Excellent combo, it's the second I have bought from Buds. I shoot skeet with the long barrel (yes, I do it with a pump-action shotgun), and I switch to the short barrel for home defense use. Excellent reliability, have not had any issues with it in my almost 6 years of regular shooting with this model.

Mossberg 500 is a classic shotgun known for its dependability as a field gun and as a home defense weapon. The barrel options have made this perfect as a dual use gun. It has been reliable and easy to use. I have taught my kids how to shoot a shotgun with this firearm and feel it is a great option for a reliable reasonably priced firearm.

This is a great product. I especially like the ease of changing the barrels. The stock is perfectly colored and comfortable to the touch. Fired iwht out any jams or misfires. Its a beautiful piece and everyone who sees it loves it. "gotta go to Bud's" :-)

This was delivered quickly to my FFL dealer. Upon inspection of the shotgun, it was perfect. There were no blemishes or wear marks. The shotgun is a good weight and the option to switch out barrels is very handy. I have not installed the pistol grip yet, but all the hardware was with it. I want to add a sling and maybe a side saddle to it. Thanks Buds, you made this purchase easy and affordable!

This is my 3rd purchase and I definitely will buying more. This is my first 12G/28G pump action shot gun. Haven't taken it to the range yet but anxious and as always, transactions and process operates as smoothly as the pumping on my shot gun does.

This combo is an excellent value. My local gun shop gave me a blank stare when I inquired about the combo, but fortunately informed consumers have options. This was my first transaction with Buds and it went flawlessly.

This thing is great! Action is smooth, and trigger is light and crisp. Finish came out perfect, and the furniture is even better than I expected. The barrel can be swapped out in under a minute, which allows this shotgun to go from your bedside to the field, and back all in the same day.

Solid performer. Reliable gun. Arrived with 18" cylinder bore security barrel attached. Ran several slugs and 00 buckshot through the gun with no problems. Hits where you point it. 28" field barrel is non-ported, has a vent rib and comes with 3 chokes; modified coke was pre-installed but needed to be tightened. Currently using the full choke, because that's my preference for a field barrel. Improved cylinder choke is also included. Takes about 30 seconds to switch barrels. Takes about a minute to switch chokes with included wrench. Gun is labeled "Crown Grade." Wood is a fairly dark finish. Safety thumb switch is metal. Looks good. Has attachment points for sling on stock and on end of magazine tube. Also came with a pistol/cruiser grip which I have not utilized. Excellent multi-purpose weapon for the price. Expect it to perform for years.

I ordered the 12 gauge Mossberg 500 field/security combo (54169) from Buds. This is my first shotgun purchase and I am quite pleased with my choice. The box included the shotgun with the 18.5" barrel attached. The field barrel was nicely packed alongside the three chokes, a pistol grip, and a lock. I have found (as many have before me) that the barrels interchange quickly and easily. After a breakdown and initial cleaning, I made my way to the range with a few friends. The Mossberg 500 (with the security barrel attached) worked flawlessly and was a joy to shoot. I am looking forward to years of service from this Mossberg.

Love this gun, you need really strong hands to use with the handgun grip, but besides that, no complaints.

Bud's made it a breeze to purchase, and I received it promptly. This Mossberg is fun to shoot, barrels are easy to swap. Came with 4 chokes, plug, the vent rib barrel I received was not the ported version (I've read some do have them, but I'm not mad about it, it was a steal of a price), it did not come with a fully rifled barrel (read that some did, again not mad about it), and it also came with a pistol grip kit. Thanks Bud's I'll be back again!

Hunting shotgun, never had an issue. Barrels swap easy enough and shoot well.

This was my first time ordering online from Buds. Process was easy and Northside was great as well. The Shotgun is exactly what I expected, looks great. Have had it to the range once and put about 50 rounds through it. Worked and felt great.

Writing this review after only one weekend of shooting...overall I'm happy with my choice. Having two barrels is great for different uses and it's very quick and easy to change barrels. The chokes are also quick and easy to change. The action is smooth and the gun feels comfortable for me. I'd recommend this gun to anyone looking for a dual purpose gun for home security and bird hunting.
