Great gun! ran 150 rounds of FMJ thru it so far, have had 3 jams so far, but overall great gun, great balance, low recoil

I have owned many handguns, and the Taurus 809 is one of the best buys on the market. The magazine is a little loose, but overall I would rate it an A . Excellent sights, ambidextrous controls, and high capacity magazines make it a great buy. Add to the fact that it was under $300 (including transfer and bgc), you can't go wrong with it. Ordered on Tuesday night, shipped on Wednesday, picked it up at local FFL on Thursday. Buds will get my business again.

I have to say this PT809 was a good purchase. It is built well and with the extra back straps you can adjust how the gun fits in your hand. Finish is very good, but the three dot sights are hard to pick up when you shoot. That being said I picked up the pistol from my dealer and immediately went down to the range. Only had time to run 50rds but I had zero problems, this gun functions perfectly. Double action is stiff, single action is nice and crisp. Mag release is stiff but when you press it the empty magazine flies out...All 50rds were on the paper at 10 yards and expect to do better as I get use to the gun. The only change I am going to make is to install a set of HI-Viz fiber optic sights so my old and tired eyes can pick up the sight picture quicker. For the money you cannot beat this gun, period! And as always Bud's processing and shipping were top notch.

I received my 809 today, did an inspection & as usual,it was covered in the cosmoline shipping grease just like most Taurus firearms but that was no big deal,a good deep cleaning got it ready to fire.At 1st look,I thought the rear sight was crooked but it must had been me because it was dead on accurate. The grip felt great, hardly no recoil with 115 grain fmj ammo.No malfunctions in 100 rounds. Then I fired 50 rounds of 147 grain hollow points with no malfunctions.Naturally these had a little more noticable recoil but with this PT809,,not near as much as you would think.I'm looking forward to giving the PT845 a try next.Bud's price for the PT809 was only $288,whereas my local dealers were wanting at least $365. This was my 1st time buying a firearm online.I chose Bud's not only because of the price, but because of their postal money order payment option.I'm one of those who don't like putting personal financial information online.
