Simple and perhaps "crude" design, but it has a certain appeal. The price is right. Have not experienced any malfunctions or jambs. Not light, but durable and reliable.

Background, I grew up with a grandfather who had a gunsmith shop in his basement! My specialty- Making from scratch and sporterizing WWI-WWII Mauser stocks! It's been 28yrs (I'm 50) since I've even handled a firearm... I liked to drink so, I put them all away!!!! SMART! Now, been dry 5years! Picked 'em back up^__^ It's been a year now since I've purchased my pair of 9mm... And, carbine. I have carried one with me at work for that year!!! It's covered in latex paint, tons of dirt, silicone and other "schtuff"!!! A whole year never cleaned!!! Yes, on purpose for this review! Your welcome Hi-Point! I got tired of the bad talk about U.S.A. product! The other flawlessly clean just sitting by the bed!!! All I have done for this year is sit in front of the TV and rack through the magazines manually... Finally, I get out to the Sharonville DNR range Michigan! It's Free! And, awesome place!!! It is top heavy and I guess depending on experience and strength has about a 4inch recoil to recover from which is no more then my 22magnums but is more then my P22's... But, after several shots from each (after a few with the various 22s first).... (25yds) I was hitting some bulls eyes and, they both PREFORMED FLAWLESSLY!!!!!!! My bubby and I shot for an hour. He's several years older and experienced. he's never not carried since he was able and, even he was impressed while shooting his S&W40. Let's compare the two... The 40 will put a bigger "target" down easier at a longer range But, under fifty yards I don't think it makes a difference!?? Just as accurate as the S&W40, not as hard of a Kick, not as loud(a bit). Seems to eject at a lower angle(the 40 was pelting me with empty shells the spot over at the range and was bouncing them off everywhere. Were the 9mm seemed to be all about the same area roughly off the net to my right.) 9mm is less two rounds and is top heavy. If you had to pummel someone with it it's great(I'm sure?) I had no problem with the grips but, they're plain. Anybody, can afford it or two if your like me... Lefty and Righty^__~ It comes in several calibers to match your likings and/or ammo availability!? I truly believe this is (a) "THE PEOPLES GUN" I can't wait to go back and take my matching carbine!^___^

Purchased this C9 several years ago. After hundreds of rounds I have never experienced any failures or problems. Hi-Point gets a lot of undeserved bad press. (My Opinion) I'm on a fixed income and for this price point I'm able to afford what I feel is a reliable firearm with an awesome lifetime warranty. My first purchase from Bud's but there have been many more.

Buds is great, enough said on that front. Hi Point 9mm was jamming up through the first 100 rounds but rounds 101 through through 400ish have been jam free. I havemt had a single jam in my last three visits to the range. Its worked itself into a solid gun. Not nearly as pretty as a glock. But you could beat someone up pretty good with it if you run out of lead.

Okay gun for the price. It will shoots most of the time but not all the time. The magazine comes out it will jam if i put more than 5 rnds in the magazine. Spend a bit more and get yourself something more reliable. Yet again its inexpensive and can be used as a back up fun gun. So why not buy it.
