The Good. It\'s a great value. It\'s extremely durable. Warranty and customer service of the company is excellent, and in the rare chance that it misfires, it\'s heavy enough to bludgeon someone to death. The Bad. The trigger pull is very heavy if I had to guess I would say close to 9lbs, It did not feel especially mushy, but somewhat gritty and not at all smooth. the trigger pull was so hard it affected my accuracy quite prominently and I found myself checking my safety multiple times, it was so hard. Secondly, The safety, it was very hard to secure engaged and because of a lack of any kind of real edge to catch your thumb on, you often had to use your fingernail to make that final push home, and it was uncomfortable to use, fortunately, disengaging was much easier but still it felt awkward and not smooth at all. Lastly The size of the grip, it\'s large, even my husband who is a large man said it felt large to him, they are also too smooth and the gun want\'s to twist somewhat when shooting especially if you have sweaty hands. Summary, It\'s purely a value priced gun, and it\'s better than no gun. Would I want to give this to my daughter to defend herself? Probably not, I\'d rather spend $80 more and get a better quality weapon, Don\'t get me wrong, it has a purpose, it\'s probably a good gun to throw in the glovebox in a farm truck or a tacklebox, but this is not a collector\'s item and never will be. I did not care for the gun, it just did not feel good to shoot and was traded away for something else the first day after I shot 100 rounds through it. I debated keeping it and had heard that the trigger smooths out and softens up after 4-500 rounds, but that still wasn\'t going to fix the sticky safety and the feeling that I\'m grabbing hold of a 4lb sledgehammer handle, and just my general lack of enthusiasm about shooting it that much, before it became a pleasure to shoot Perhaps I got a dud. I still have my HP C9 that I purchased and I like it much better than this one. so yes, I\'m a HP fan, just not a JCP 40 fan.

it works. What more can i say. Damn accurate too. The recoil is much better than i anticipated, probably because of the weight. it is damn big and bulky BUT it goes bang everytime and i actually enjoy shooting it

Shipping through buds is the best. Got the hi point 40. Magazine is really tight getting the last round in. After about 150 rounds it\'s jammed twice. But it\'s $150

First off I love Bud's. Ordered on Monday and received Thursday. I'm a completely loyal customer. Now despite what some people think when it comes to Hi Point, let me tell you that I've never been let down. I own several models to also include the .40cal carbine. With today's purchase I plan on stippling the grips instead of buying overlays or sleeves. Large pistol for a small framed woman yet the recoil is manageable due to the slide weight. Can't beat $155 for a .40 cal
