I hear a lot of people make negative comments about this brand stating that it is cheap and junk. I have to disagree! While it is not as tight or as beautiful as my Taurus 1911 it is a reliable nice full size .45 for the money. I shot 220 rounds thru this cheap little gem without issue. It fires reliably every time. After some getting used to at 7 and 10 yards it had decent grouping with most being in a 4-6 inch group. Not too bad. The sights could use updated which might help. But for under $200? They are ugly and heavy but you won't be disappointed if you're expecting to receive an ugly, heavy .45 on the cheap. Buy one.

Buds did a great job on shipping fast, I like the gun it is heavy but it shoots dead on and has fired every single time and I have shot 500 rounds. Pawn shops around here are selling this gun used for $195.00 so you can't go wrong with this one if your looking for a low cost home protection or range gun.

Bought 3 of these pistols, 1 for me and then had the other 2 transfered into my fathers, and father in laws names. We LOVE these pistols! Big, Ugly, and yes, very heavy! But all three have performed flawlessly from the first round. I don't see why people get upset about these pistols. If it doesn't fire properly, send it back. Lifetime warranty. Stop bitching. Just send it back and get it fixed. They ARE very heavy. But damn, they shoot nice! Great gun for the $!!! Shipping was a little slower than expected from buds... but not bad. The FFL I chose for the transfer was a complete mistake! The last reported transfer was 20$. They charged me 35.... NOT COOL. Live and learn!

I have had my gun for a few months now and I must say I love it. Some people I've let shoot it complained about the weight of it, I'm a girl and it doesn't bother me so I guess to each their own. I wouldn't recommend it as a weapon to carry or anything, but for home defense it is fine. It's also accurate, I've taken it target shooting several times. The only very minor complaint I have is about the slickness of the grip, but that is an easy fix. I actually bought a pink rubber grip cover the same time I purchased the gun, that turned out being a great idea.

I've had the Hi Point 45 for nearly a year now and have put several hundred rounds through it. It shoots straight as an arrow and I've had not jams or misfires. I feel if you keep it clean and oiled you will have lots of success with this gun. It is a heavy gun compared to other guns of the same caliber by different manufacturers, but the extra weight also helps to dampen the kick of the round and quickly settles you back on target. Overall I'm pleased with the purchase and for the price you will be too.
