This is a great 22lr pistol. The quality and workings are highly reliable. All of the issues/misfires I have had were with ammunition.

I read several of the reviews before taking this to the range so I was a bit apprehensive about what the results would be. My first outing with this pistol resulted in several failures to extract. So many that before I got through one box of ammo I finally just put it aside and switched to shooting something else. I'll take it out again and keep trying it because I like the overall feel of the gun and the fact that it is a cheaper to practice with than my other SIG's. If I can't get it to work satisfactorily this will probably be my only Mosquito purchase.

Alohhaaaa!!thank you buds for the great service! Loving this mosquito!!I used winchester, federal and cci. These ammo are 1200fps and above. Anything below 1200fps will not work.

I absolutely love this gun. Very fun to shoot and even though 22lr rounds are 5-10 times the price they were pre Newtown, it's still a lot cheaper than shooting my 9mm, 40 SW or 45acp all day. I would give this gun 5 stars, however, it's a little picky with the ammo. Winchester golden bullets, not the best. I've had no problems with Winchester super x, Federal or CCI rounds though. All in all, the quality of the weapon is excellent and the fun to be had with it at the range is well worth the inflated price of ammo. Do yourself a favor....buy one.

Bought this Sig specifically for use with an Outback IID suppressor and I can tell you it was a good choice. I had to buy a thread adapter to convert to 1/2X28 but there are a bunch of those available. It has cycled both subsonic and high velocity rounds with no misfeeds or fte's. Well made and finished, great fun to shoot with or without a suppressor. I think it's a little chintzy of Sig to only include a single mag and charge premium bucks for additional mags, but maybe I've just been spoiled by other manufacturers in that regard. Still, a great gun.

The Sig Mosquito is a nice little .22LR handgun. I prefer this to other similar offerings as it is closer to a full size pistol and has similar controls with similar locations and just fits my hand better! It is a good pistol for a learner to use and build their confidence. It really is fun to shoot and ammo is cheaper. I also went and bought the ~$50 rail attachment/sight mount that allows me to fit a "cheap" holographic site on top of the slide. This is even more fun to try and see how you like these before you pay bigger bucks for a good one on a larger pistol. Note that the Sig Mosquito really prefers CCI Mini-Mag, but only use the 40 gr solid bullets and not the hollow points! The hollow points occasionally jam going into the barrel and the slide then puts a nice dent in the case, which looks pretty bad but didn't cause a case failure for me!!

Bought in 2009. Haven't had any problems. You will need to use the CCI mini mags until it is well broken and I'm not there yet. Excellent fun. Note it's 90% the size of a Sig 226. If you want the exact fit and size of a 226, go with the 22LR versions. Ofcource they came out at the same time I bought this one. Front sights were changeable and came with three height options. They are plastic and seem a bit fragile. Would buy it again. Buds was excellent.

Great training pistol and fun to shoot. I was originally a little concerned about the reliability you read about on the web, but after over a year and no less than 4,000 rounds it's been great. After a few hundred rounds of CCI Mini Mags I switched over to Federal bulk pack and it functions flawlessly. Like any .22 you'll have some misfires, but in general I've been very happy. I'm still debating the suppressor, but it's nice to have the barrel ready when i do. Make sure to pick up a few extra mags and have fun. Buds, as always, does a great job.

2 issues I'd like to comment upon: First, Bud's Guns - what a class outfit. This is my 3rd new gun purchase from Bud's and more to come - after placing my online order this gun was at my FFL and in my hands less than 48 hrs. later. The service and the best prices - make for a land office business. Bud's web site and business model and personnel quality should be taught to other businesses in America. Second, the Sig Mosquito - it's the quality we all expect from Sig Sauer. Looks fabulous, shoots straight, works like a charm with the CCI Mini Mags. The .22 LR ammo is easy on the wallet. I recommend this gun, and Bud's, most highly. Thank you.

I bought this gun because i like the way it looks. It's fun to shoot but i couldn't find the CCI for it so i ended up getting ammo that doesn't work. I found that Wichester 36 grain, Aguila 36 grain supermax hyoer velocity, Remington 22lr thunderbolt 40gr and three others do not work. The gun jams almost everytime the trigger is pulled. I finally got some CCI's and I guess thats all this gun wants to eat. Not happy with that, especially since i have boxes of the other stuff. I'm planning on getting another .22 so hopefully i can use it then. Otherwise i think it's an awsome looking gun and does shoot well.

This gun feels like a mid-frame larger handgun...Not a "Plinker"! I was surprised at how comfortable and accurate this pistol is. I definately reccomend this weapon to anyone. I liked mine so much I bought one for my Mother!

I agree with the other review. This is an excellent little pistol. Well made and shoots great. It may cost more than other semi auto pistils in 22LR but you get what you pay for.. Use CCI mini mags and you will have no problems.

I bought a Sig Skeeter for my wife because it's cheap to shoot, and easy to use. I read a lot about these firearms before I made the commitment to buy one, and I knew exactly what to expect. It is hard to ask a gun manufacturer to make a semi automatic pistol that will fire such a "weak" bullet and expect the slide to cycle perfectly every time. The cure for this is to use the CCI mini mags, or any high velocity round. I personally have used the CCI's and Aguila Super Maximums and have had no problem throughout 1000+ rounds. For what this pistol is, it is very well put together, and is a fun "plinking" gun. For anyone to buy this as a serious personal protection weapon is foolish, this is for target practice.
