I got my EAA Witness steel 45 compact earlier this week and took it to the range this morning. There are some real positives to this pistol and a few minor negatives. First the good: after running over 100 rounds of assorted 230 gr. FMJ ammo through the pistol I did not have a single failure to fire, failure to feed, or failure to eject. I haven't tried it with some of the more lightly loaded "target" ammo I have, but I expect it should work fine. Also, if you're familiar with CZ pistols then field stripping the EAA Witness is a breeze. No problems at all breaking it down and cleaning it. If you're looking for a good home defense pistol this one should get serious consideration. Now for the (minor) negatives: (1) the pistol came soaked in oil--it really took a good cleaning to get it ready for the range; (2) the rear sights are drift adjustable for windage, but not for elevation and my pistol seems to shoot low and to the right (although as my grandfather used to say "it's a poor workman that blames his tools"); (3) in some ways saying this pistol is a compact is a misnomer--it does have a 3.6 inch barrel, but it's very hefty feeling, if you carried it as a concealed weapon I think you would be very conscious of having it on your hip or in your waistband; and (4) it only comes with one magazine but Bud's has extras for a very reasonable price. All-in-all I'm very glad I ordered this pistol (as everyone says--Bud's is great as always) and it will probably be a regular shooter for me and not just something I shove back in the safe.

RESPONSE BY BUDS: JUST VERY UNNECESSARY, IN THIS CUSTOMERS OWN WORDS.... "UPON INSPECTION I REALIZED THAT THEY SENT THE WRONG GUN". PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT ACCEPT THE TRANSFER OF ANY GUN YOU ARE NOT 100% SATISFIED WITH. WE OFFER THIS 100% SATISFACTION POLICY TO PROTECT ALL OUR CUSTOMERS BUT WE CANNOT FORCE YOU TO USE IT ! Ordered the advertised gun and got a new 2011 gun model. The picture and the sku nr on the web site was the one for 2012, but buds delivered something else. Keep saying that pictures are from manufacturer. i told them that the catalog shows the right gun picture and sku but waht they are selling is something else. They would not aknowledge their screw up. I had to wait 5 days for initial order to come into my FFL and upon inspection I realized that they sent the wrong gun. This is the worst service ever even. I will buy my guns from my local dealers from now on.

This is my first experience with a 45 cal. pistol and I was very pleasantly surprised. This gun is extremely well made, fit and finish are superb and it shoots great. It has much smaller recoil than what I expected. It also fits my hand very good. I am very pleased with this purchase and the price I got it for was a bargain. Bud's is the place for great guns at great prices!

I received my EAA Witness Compact 45 acp on Saturday (03/03), went to the range today. Shot app. 75 rounds thru it. Not one glitch. A very accurate firearm and a delight to shoot. I had read many bad things regarding this firearm and I totally disagree with all those negative opinions. The baby rocks !! My second experience in purchasing a firearm from Bud's, both experiences overall were positive and I will sop with them again sometime down the road. The EAA Witness is whats up !

Cleaned the excess oil up before going to the range. This was my second purchase of a EAA (Tanfoglio made in Italy) My other is the convertible .22LR/.45ACP which is a bit longer in barrel length..The gun was a hoot to shoot with reloaded 230Gr wad cutters. Not all that much muzzle flip . I like the finish on this weapon in all it went through 100 rounds of my reloads without a hiccup .It's a keeper and with the unusually cold weather in SE Florida this will supplant my Kahr 9mm as CCW in my jeans. Besides the fact that a 45 is better stopper for any social occaision which might arise. Marv C
