Iv had this gun over a year now and I guess I'd say it's a DECENT gun...within the first 50 rounds of firing it a little jagged retainer pin that holds the bolt release button in place popped out causing the whole mechanism to fall out at the range. I contacted mossberg customer service and it took them 5 months to send me a tiny little pin leaving me with a large paper weight for almost half a year...I'd also like to add that iv had to replace the shell follower with an after market wolf follower. Prior to that, I could only load all 7 shells about 2 out of 10 times because aparently the follower would get stuck on the magazine tube extension causing the follower to get jammed sometimes only letting me load 5 rounds. Mossberg sent me a new extension tube but nothing fixed the problem until I upgraded it to the wolf spring and follower. After all the issues were worked out iv got to say that this gun has ran everything iv thrown at it from 3 inch mag slugs to low recoil bird shot with no issues at all. When you buy a gun for 600 you shouldn't have to do all that bs in order for it to run properly. Although It runs fine now, I just can't fully trust my life to it. I think I'll be selling it and getting a 590a1 soon. My advise is if you want a semi auto shotgun for home/self defense, save your money, get a benelli m4...buds was awesome as they always are, buying another gun from them as we speak :)

This is a great semi-auto shotgun. I read some reports of Mossberg's QC issues, but none of them are on my gun. The bad- the parkerizing isn't very think on the steel parts and it will surface rust fairly easily. This is common with the other Mossys I own. I have made a mental note on which factory ammo it would not cycle. The only ammo it has not functioned with was some super low recoil trap loads that were labeled "Will not function semi-auto guns". Birdshot, buckshot, slugs, reduced police loads, all of them have cycled and the gun has run like a champ. I mounted a mini-red dot optic on the rail. I was able to make slug hits on a steel IPSC target at over 200 yards just as easily as with a rifle. This is a winner of a shotgun.

I really like this shotgun, I have played with a few 500's & 590's but never any semi autos. I like the look the feel, its light weight, the iron sights are dead on @ 100 yards. You can't go wrong with this shotgun, I'm really digging this gun!!!!!

My wife says that this is the ugliest gun she's ever seen. I love it! I've put just over 100 rounds through it so far, a combination of #8s, #2s, buckshot and slugs and it has functioned flawlessly. Ghost sites were dead on out of the box and I was punching a ragged hole with slugs at 25 yards. Trigger is quite nice, maybe even a little lighter than the trigger on my much more expensive Benelli M2. Recoil is pretty mild with all loads, owing in part to the cushy butt pad. The only negative I can find for the shotgun (and it's a minor one) is that the machining of the inside of the receiver is pretty rough. No effect on function, just cosmetically a little disappointing. As an interesting side note, the price of my shotgun went down by $26 a couple of days after I purchased it. I took advantage of the Buy Safe Guarantee that comes with a purchase at Buds and was refunded the difference. A relatively quick and easy procedure. Good job Buds. Overall, I'm very happy with my Mossberg 930SX, even if the wife hates it.
