Picked up the 930SX yesterday from the 'smith. Gun is in good condition in regards to finish and initial manual cycling however the extended mag tube is canted so that there is a slight divergence noted between tube and barrel. This seems to be only a visual/cosmetic issue and I will update functionality after first 250 rounds.

I just got mine today and this thing is a tank. I checked all the things that were mentioned in the negative reviews and this thing is flawless. It seems to be the newer generation that has the lug for the sling and the thicker barrel. The action on it is also smooth and doesn't jam. I have made several purchases from Buds and have never been disappointed. I would highly recommend the gun and the dealer. ;-)

This "weapon" is a POS! Shotgun was shipped to me defective and inoperative. When I went to do a functions check with the first step the weapon failed with the bolt locking up in the rearward position "tangled" up with shell lifter/feed ramp. Pretty much seems to be an ubiquitous issue in that a simple google search turns up abundant evidence of other such user experiences. Pretty much all in all the front stock piece was literally about to fall off it was so loose, finish was off in places to the point of actually looking like it had been drug across a gravel parking lot, rail and rear peep were loose, and OF COURSE the fact that the bolt would bind on the shell lifter thus essentially causing this weapon to be inoperative and just a 600 dollar paper weight and this without even having had the chance to fire one round. This forum thread has pictures of the bolt binding issue and plenty of other reports of this very common issue: This is my first Mossberg weapon and will be my last. The experience of having to deal with their customer service at the very best and most kindest I can describe it are "amateurish" ... I called and arranged for a shipping label to be sent and waited a week and a half and still no label, turns out they never even shipped it but tried to play it off by saying that Fed ex "lost" the label but at any rate I spent roughly 600 dollars on this POS and it has been going on two months since I have had it still haven't got to fire it or use it in the intended local 3 Gun Matches out at the Best of the West Range in Liberty Hill Texas because I have been dealing with Mossberg "customer" service and trying to resolve this issue...

This was my first purchase from Buds, and plan on many more. Overall experience...very satisfied! Buds shipped very quickly, and price is unbeatable. I have to say Mossberg 930SX was more than expected! Fit and finish is above average. No problems with previous issues stated in earlier reviews. It comes with the upgraded charging handle, heavy barrel, and front swivel mount for a sling. It functioned extremely well with 00 buckshot, however with #8, did not function aswell. I relized after a few failure to eject rounds I pushed a little harder into my shoulder and problem was solved, purely my form not the gun. I will be mostly using #4 to 00 buckshot in this shotgun. If you are in the market for such a weapon, definately buy a Mossberg 930SX from Buds, you will not be dissapointed. Zombies beware!!!

Excellent shotgun. I see how it was awarded the NRA/Shooting Illustrated shotgun of the year for 2009. Very light, 7+1 (you can ghost load it to 8+1), fast handling, lots o 12 gauge whoop #$%@ very quickly. For strickly buckshot and slugs, it's fine. However I bought this for 3 gun competition and it will have to be threaded for choke tubes to get birdshot to pattern so it can knock down clays and steel with any accuracy. I still give it 5 stars because it has never had a problem eating ammo from day 1. Lot's of aftermarket parts to geek it out if you want to. Highly recommended.
