I can’t recommend this revolver. I love a 3” barrel and a 6 shot that’s the size of a five is awesome…but… Mine was out time when I received it and was shot all over the place with multiple loads. It also splayed tiny lead shavings out of the cylinder gap. Enough so that it cut my off hand knuckle. Took 2 returns to Ruger for repair and finally had to be replaced. Second shot all over as well.

Another of my favorite magnums, think of a .30 carbine round out of a handgun with about 2/3rds of .357 recoil. I like it very much. Fast service from Buds..................

327 is the best. It is a natural with a small frame revolver. I sort of like this 3" over the 4" as it is more "combat" than target. For carry, go with the LCR. For home or truck defense, go with this one.

An odd caliber and a length no longer available (the new versions of this model Ruger have a 4" barrel, perhaps more suited for the .327 Fed Mag round, with a fiber optic front sight). This is an excellent revolver, squeezing the 6th round into the small SP101 cylinder that holds 5 rounds in .352/.38 Special. If you can find one of these at anywhere near the original asking price, it would be a good deal!

Very happy with the firearm. Shot 32S&W Longs by Magtech & Aquila and 327Mag Federal Jacketed Softpoints. Somewhat stiff for first twenty or so rounds and didn't like the Aquila ammo initially. Loved the .327Mag ammo. Pistol shoots to point of aim @7yrds. Have a target with a 4 shot group that is .5" ,and looks like Mickey Mouse, from a sand bag. Extremely accurate pistol. It loosened up nicely. Double action trigger is heavy but smooth. Single action breaks like a glass rod. I'm Happy!! Thanks for the great service, Bud's

Thanks for the fast shipping and excellent service from Buds. This is a great personal defense gun. It is accurate and totally reliable. You can't go wrong with a Ruger. I personally like the Hogue Monogrip better than the stock Ruger grip to accommodate the recoil. The trigger pull is pretty stiff right out of the box but dry firing about 100 times makes it much smoother. Both the American Eagle 100gr sp and the Speer 115gr jhp rounds shoot great. I would recommend this gun to anyone for a personal defense weapon.

Amazing gun. Fits my hand perfectly and is built like a tank, high quality. Kicks like a 357 mag does in a bigger gun due to the high pressure of the 327. Also, this gun will shoot 5 calibers: 327 mag, 32 H&R mag, 32 S&W long, 32 S&W, 32 ACP.

This is the best self-defense gun I have ever owned (I have had S&W night guards, glocks, 1911's, and tons of awesome wheel guns) It fits in my J-Frame Holster (so the frame's footprint is the same as that of a J-frame having a 3 inch barrel). The .327 Federal Magnum 115 grain gold dot expanded to .63 inches when I tested it! wow..... I got 1402 fps out of the 3 1/16 inch barrel when I measured it. That is 500 ft-lbs of muzzle energy and produces a wallop at the range. The range officer asked me ," What the hell are you shooting out of that thing?" lol I had a 12 inch pattern at 25 yards free handed in double action and a 3" pattern at 20 ft free handed in double action. Each group was about 10-12 shots. Recoil was between a 38+p and a 357 magnum--so very contallable out of the 28 oz frame. This SP101 is built much stonger than my beloved J-frames and is probably a little more accurate (J-frames are very accurate though). This thing is a keeper.......

It has a good home in the Ruger SP101, but I also see a future for the cartridge in other handguns, and maybe even a carbine. In the world of rugged and reliable compact medium bore double action revolvers, the SP101 is king, and I will not hesitate to recommend the .327 SP101 to those needing an accurate defensive piece. It is a very versatile weapon, firing the .32 S&W, .32 S&W Long, and the .32 H&R cartridges in addition to the .327 Federal Magnum cartridge.
