This was my first S&W Performance Center gun after owning multiple Ruger revolvers. This is a nice gun, but I really don\'t feel it is Premium in any way. The compensator shot loose the first time that I took it out, Which could be ugly if the bullet had contacted it. The trigger overtravel stop appears to just be for cosmetic purposes as it does not make contact with the trigger guard. The gun can\'t handle hotter loads of .44 magnum, which I like to carry for shooting wild hogs. With that being said, the trigger pull feels nice in both single and double action.

I just bought this beautiful gun, adn picked it up at the FFL yesterday. Everything looked like it was in tip top shape. Took it to the range for the first time today, and had horizontal stringing to the left. Front sight was loose from the factory. This is a Performance Center gun... unacceptable. Heading back tomorrow.

Entirely happy experience. My local gun shop would have charged me considerably more for a gun I'd have had to wait for who knows how many months. It was -- and is -- available at Bud's at an attractive price. The Performance Center's V-Comp .44 mag is a handsome piece of craftsmanship and Bud's service cannot be faulted.

Spectacular revolver. This could be the perfect balance of hunting, carrying, backpacking, and target shooting 44 Mag I've seen. Ideal size and the compensator does an excellent job of absorbing expected recoil and muzzle rise bringing you back on target much faster. Beautifully designed. A keeper.

Great gun fit and finish is what you would expect from Smith & Wesson's Performance Center, very accurate not a whole lot of kick considering it's a .44mag.Bud's has the best price. If your a .44mag fan and if you live in a state that lets you open carry buy it, you won't regret it.

This review has nothing to do with Buds. They have been and continue to be the best gun company I have ever dealt with in my 40 years of buying guns since I was a Navy Seal during Vietnam. Derek, Peyton and Ira will bend over backwards to satisfy the customer and Nick is a wonderful man. My problem is with Smith and Wesson. This gun looked like it had 200 rounds of dirty wadcutter ammo fired through it. The forcing cone and the front of the cyclender were foulded so bad it was unreal. I have shot thousands of rounds through many revolvers and have never brought them back from the range looking this bad. Fortunatly my FFL dealer has a gunsmith who poslished out the front of the cylinder and forcing cone at not charge. The ejector rod was lose and he had to tighten that also. This is a Performance Center Gun. I have written to customer service about this and I will post an update later.
