Having carried a gun of one sort or another for many years I found the Kahr P380 to be a Goldilocks’ gun for pocket carry. It seems just right for that size and weight class. I have tried numerous pistols over the years, looking for that perfect combination of design qualities. For a carry gun the characteristics I demand are reliability and usability. For this niche, some of the characteristics I look for are a functional design made with quality materials, low profile sights that don’t snag on the draw but visible enough to see, a long smooth trigger pull that is safe for pocket carry, lightweight and no sharp edges. This pistol checks all the boxes for me. After the factory proscribed break-in, my Kahr has been 100% reliable and accuracy has been as good as some full-size guns. Finally, while felt recoil is subjective, and recoil of small 380 pistols are a bit snappy, I find the P380 to be more comfortable to shoot than other 380’s I’ve had such as a Ruger LCP.

Great gun. Fits great in a pocket with a pocket holster. Never jammed.

I sold it. I sent it back to the factory twice, and each time it came back in worse condition. In my opinion, it's a design flaw. The feed ramp was made on a diagonal and it fails to feed properly

Never buy this gun. Its pretty, light and accurate but prone to light fires and the slide is very very hard to pull back. This slide needs to be that way because Kahr has this new mechanism no other pistol has for recoil and cocking the gun. If you put one drop of oil in the underside of the slide where the trigger/safety is the gun wont fire till the oil leaks out. Even with breakfree CLP. There is plastic edge flash for the polymer bottom everywhere and they interfere with the mechanisms. Again Never buy. Zero Stars.

I have had this pistol for several years now and carry it in a front pocket holster. The pistol has less recoil than my 380 sig. It has been reliable so far and I have shot approx. 500 rounds. I let a lady friend try the pistol but she was not able to work the slide. For a man, working the slide is not that hard but it has a double spring system which makes it harder than say a Glock or Gov 45. If a woman is thinking about this pistol I suggest you try one at the gun shop before you order one. The pistol is easy to shoot accurately even though it has such a short sight radius. It is an ideal pistol for front pocket carry and has a very smooth double action pull. My wife use to shoot a sig p230 but it now hurts here wrist but this pistol does not and has less snap in the recoil.

Best conceal pistol.
Very very accurate even out to extended distance due to the exclusive rifiling

Kahr P380-
Satisfied with the service level from Buds and the product. The gun delivered to the FFL about 1 week after order. Tracking and status updates were acceptable. My FFL was already in Buds system which is nice because that process can be painful if it’s not already setup and it seems like they do a good job of having FFL’s already available in their database...and I live in a small town! Product delivered new and in expected condition.
This is my first .380 I wanted a good backup carry gun. Price was competitive, I believe that’s because it doesn’t come with the night sights for the model I purchased. The gun shot very well with Remington ammo, no issues . It did not like Monarch ammo 4FTE’s out of 50 rd. It also did well with Sig and Hornady self defense ammo, no failures with either of those. Very accurate, I was happy and impressed with how fun it was to shoot a small gun tight groups at 10yd on a 8” target. Again the gun is small, so there’s not a lot of space to get a good purchase on the slide and when I squeeze the trigger all the way my index finger grazes the bottom of my thumb/palm but I think that’s part of getting used to an ultra carry which large hands.
I would recommend this gun to someone looking for a .380 in this category. I would also recommend purchasing from Buds, they’re reliable and have good pricing. This was my first purchase from Buds and online for that matter and it was a good experience so they’ve earned a retiring customer.

I have read countless reviews on how finicky the Kahr P380 is with ammo and the suggested 200 round break-in period. It’s 2019. Perhaps there were issues with earlier produced guns (Pre-2015), but my experience has been stellar. I took 6 types of ammo to the range to break it in with 300 rounds and frankly, expected the worse. I am happy to report that it went smoothly w/ all! Just one hiccup. When loading the Sig JHP, 2 bullets got stuck upon loading. Wiggles the gun and it was taken care of. I threw everything at it. JHP. JHP +P. But the best rounds for sure was Buffalo Bore. The absolute best. Beyond ridiculous. Fastest bullet for a 380 made. Period. Flawless. My personal defense ammo from here on in. The best part of the P380, was the recoil was less than any other 380 i’ve Fired. Yes, including the Sig 238. At the price Bud’s is selling it at the present time is a no-brainer. In closing, the best 380 on the market. Bar none.

This gun is absolutely stunning!
The trigger is very smooth and wide so you know you have a position connection to it upon placement of your finger. The size is perfect for conceal carry. The slide has a strong recoil spring so it is definitely not easy but that's alright.
The P380 we ordered came with a great hard case that it came in, as well as THREE total magazines. BudsGunShop informed me prior to ordering it that this firearm came with ONE, but ours came complete with THREE. Three is excellent as it helps save time at the range.
Overall I'd HIGHLY reccommend this firearm to anyone who is looking for a high quality conceal-carry option. The price is fantastic as most retailers offering the Kahr P380 are in the $600+ range so Buds is definitely the king when it comes to the price range of this little gem.

Nice, nice, nice. Much nicer than the Rugers and KelTecs I've had in the past and there was nothing wrong with them. Runs 100%, trigger is amazing. Has a really solid feel to it and is easy to shoot well. Came with 2 six round and 1 seven round mag in a nice fitted case.

INCREDIBLY hard to rack. WAY harder than the two 9mms I own. I'm 6ft 225lbs and I can barely do it, and it's literally painful on my wrist and hand when I do. My wife can't do it at all.

Over 700 rounds through this little guy and ZERO problems. Some say Kahr pistols are hit or miss, but mine has definitely been a huge hit. Perfect pocket gun, and I carry it regularly in the summer in basketball shorts and a t-shirt. The transaction with Buds was fast as usual, and the gun showed up in perfect condition. Highly recommend Buds, and the Kahr P380!

I had the opportunity to fire this gun for the first time today and decided to do the whole Kahr recommended 200 round break in period at once. I was apprehensive as people seem to love or hate this pistol. I had a single FTF in 200 rounds including the p Underwood xtp rounds I intend to carry in it. I am very pleased with the handgun so far and look forward to carrying it. The shipping was much slower than I am used to, but the price and product are good to go.

Great service as usual from Buds. Got this to compliment my p40. Why I like Kahr? 1. Look good. 2. Feel good in my hand (USMC learned me to shoot with a 1911which has similar angles). 3. Kahr very consistent in their products (this is good with guns), because I can pick up either get same sight picture and same trigger pull. 4. This is best double action trigger I've felt in the just shy of 40 years since mama green taught me to shoot. 5. By shopping around have now got two P model Kahrs for price of C models. (The second thanks to Buds), thanks Buds!

Ordered Tuesday morning it was here Thursday at noon! Judging off the mixed reviews for the P380 I'm assuming either kahr made some improvements to the P380 over the years or the people leaving bad reviews just didn't read their owners manual. To chamber a round, lock the slide back, insert loaded mag and release the slide using the slide release, not by hand, at least untill the spring loosens up after about 200 rounds. For range ammo you'll want to use brass cased ammo with a round nose (preferably USA made) No steel or aluminum cased ammo and avoid flat nosed rounds. Kahrs have a steep feed ramp and dont like flat nose rounds or wide mouth hollows. Mine ran 100% on my first range trip using 50 rounds of Federal champion 95 gr fmj, then 50 Remington UMC 95 gr fmj, then 20 rounds of Hornady critical defense. Slide locked back after the last round every time. No problems. Came with 3 mags!

Applied Frog Lube and ran 100 rounds of Winchester White box through it without a single malfunction. Very happy so far. Will be running another 100 rounds through in the next couple of weeks. Will re-post if results vary.

Hi,Received my Kahr P 380 within the stated time frame Bud's posts online and within the 2 day delivery time frame of Fed-X. Norton guarantee was nice as well! Pleased with the appearance of my P 380 and look forward to firing it at the local outdoor range in the near future! Thus far I am very pleased! Thanks!!

This pistol has a measured 5lb trigger which is very smooth and predictable. Fit and finish are what we have come to expect from KAHR. After 150 rounds of FMJ the slide will still not go fully into battery. You can bump/nudge the rear of the slide and it will go into battery. Very accurate. Will not reliably feed Gold Dot HPs yet. I got tired messing with it and tossed it into the safe. It is not a gun you shoot lots of ammo through at one time. I have been shooting/instructing for 40 years, 30 as a LEO. I will drag it back out soon and finish the 200 round minimum KAHR recommends to shoot prior to contacting them about problems. It ride nice in a DeSantis Nemesis Holster in my right front pants pocket. NO I did not carry an unreliable pistol into the World. I carried it around the house and while doing outside yard duties, sipping ice tea or hot coffee on the patio. Your milage may vary.

Second firearm transaction with BUDS. Great company and good prices that can't be beat locally. Each time, my firearm arrived at my FFL in 2 to 3 days. I read a lot about this pistol online. Has had a lot of unfavorable reviews. Much of it has been because people don't know how to use this weapon. Many people try to use Winchester WB with flat nose because it is cheap. Don't do it, you are only asking for trouble. I shot a rental P380 using poor quality round nose range reloads and the pistol seemed to be dirty and dry. I could only get it to fire 2 consecutive rounds at a time about 10 times out of a box of 50. Much of the problems were failure to go into battery. This pistol is very accurate for me with 3 inch circle at 21 feet. The size (extremely easy to conceal) and accuracy was why I decided to buy one. I cleaned the weapon and lubed it (I think this gun likes to be wet) per instructions on kahrtalk.com. Have put 150 rounds of PMC Bronze FMJ round nose through it so far. Had only 1 failure to go into battery and 1 upside down stovepipe. Trigger (long pull BUT smooth) takes some getting used to. This pistol will be my American Express...."don't leave home without it." Probably would have given it a 5 star if it didn't have such a bad reputation.

Fun little pistol. Does require break in but after about 100 rounds has been flawless. Slide a little tough for my wife to work but I think it will loosen up.

I PURCHASED THIS KAHR 380 FROM BUD`S ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO. IT WAS THE BEST PRICE I FOUND, & HAVING DEALT WITH BUD`S BEFORE, I KNEW THEY`D TAKE CARE OF ME. GUN ARRIVED AT MY FFD VERY QUICKLY. I WAS VERY SURPRISED TO SEE THAT IT CONTAINED AN EXTRA 7 ROUND MAG, ALONG WITH THE 6 ROUND ONE IN THE GUN. AD SAID IT COMES WITH ONLY 1 MAG. I HOPE KAHR IS SENDING THEM ALL OUT THAT WAY NOW. I HAVE SHOT 200+ ROUNDS AT THE RANGE, WITH ALL TYPES OF AMMO, & HAD 1 HANGUP WITH 1 BRAND OF AMMO. I HAVEN`T BEEN OUT TO SHOOT IT AGAIN, BUT WONDER IF THAT BRAND WON`T CYCLE NOW THAT THE GUN`S FULLY BROKEN IN. GOOD ACCURACY AT THE DISTANCE IT WAS BUILT FOR. I OWN SEVERAL BRANDS OF GUNS, INCLUDING GLOCKS & 4 KAHR`S. I RATE THE KAHRS RIGHT UP THERE WITH THE GLOCKS, BOTH EXCELLENT CARRY GUNS.

When i received the Kahr P380, it felt really good in my hand and I could not wait to go to the range and give her a spin. The Kahr was very accurate for its size. The problems came into play very early on. The pistol would jam everytime I tried to rack the slide. It would feed about 90% of the time if I locked back the slide, and inserted a magazine, hit the slide release and loaded it that way (this is my preferred method of loading, as I conceal carry, and always have a round in the gut). The pistol was just not reliable enough for me to stake my life on. It is a shame because the pistol was a smooth shooting pistol, and very accurate when it functioned properly.
