So we decided to give this Hi Point a chance. What it does do well is go bang. However that is where the good stops. The sights are very hard to see properly, shooting way left and low each and every time. The slide has very little grip in the back and we found often times your hand would slip off the slide instead of chambering a round. The weight of it was terrible. The overall weight was not the issue - we expected a heavy brick, but it is not well balanced at all. Then there is the issue of not having a slide release and having a magazine safety. So you need to put a mag in the gun to close the slide, but that means the mag has to be empty unless you want to chamber a round. All the mechanical function aside the last straw is when you need to drive out the pin to break the gun down. Breaking this gun down each time you are done shooting is just not practical. We have broken down three times now and you can already see idiot marks and the end of the pin spreading. I found the punches were either a little too small or a little too large. After three shooting sessions of about 100 rounds total this one is being retired to the safe. Overall this gun is fine to throw in your tackle box or field truck and if it doesn't fire you can always use it as a club. Being priced at $165 you can get a much better used SW40VE for only $100 more and have a much better gun. Not that the SW40VE is perfect either but that is for another review. We are only giving this 2 stars because it does indeed shoot but that's about it.

Just got back from hooting 50 Blazer Brass 230 grain FMJ and 50 TulAmmo 230 grain FMJ...even did a quick 2 second clip...not one jam! Absolutely love the price, quality, accuracy and dependability of this gun! Recoil is acceptable...exhaust is LOUD (love it) perfect weapon for anyone...especially one who is on a limited "mad money" income!

I ordered my Hi-Point 34513 JHP .45ACP with hard case on 11/09/2015 form your shop, and received it on 11/11/2015, Veterans Day, which was kind of cool because I'm a US Army retiree. Picked up the weapon at mf FFL Republic Arsenal, paid the transfer fee of $25.00 and was out the door in about 30 minutes. I'm very satisfied with the whole process. The .45ACP I received, I think, is a very good product. When I first saw it I thought WOW! this is a Big Friggin Gun! I love it! Why do folks think that the Hi-Point weapons are ugly! I think all Hi-Point weapons look and work GREAT! American made by an American company with American parts, by AMERICANS! I intend to make another purchase ,the awesome Hi-Point 4595 Semi-Automatic .45ACP carbine. For the price and quality of the weapons, can't be beat. Keep up the good work.!

Great gun, great service and a great experience. Ordered on a monday got the gun on a thursday, quick easy background check at the dealer and straight to the range. Oiled and put 50 rd through flawless, no hang ups jams or misfeeds. Went to a lower quality ammo, still no issues, mixed steel casing and brass and no issues their. Not the most accurate over 50 meters but didnt really expect it to be, not the easiest to break down until you get the hang of it and its weight is on the heavy side. Outside of that, wonderful gun, would recommend for any gun owners collection.

I must say I was skeptical buying a Hi Point due to the undeserved negative reputation this company seems to have. Also I am very glad I decided to go ahead with the purchase. Have owned both my 45's a little over a year now with no problems at all. Little heavy but for the money, you cannot go wrong here. Hi Point makes a great product and I am proud to own them. Made in the U.S.A. with a transferable lifetime warranty!! Who else does that?? They definitely stand behind thier product. Big thanks to buds for super fast shipping and very nice and helpful phone personnel.

Got mine at the beginning of November 2014, and really happy with it. Shoot it weekly. No issues at all and works with all ammo. Got a Hogue Universal Grip sleeve for it. This gun shoots really well.
