Glad to see marlin/ Remington has improved this gun I was worried about some past problems Fit and finish is good but did notice some machine marks and my barrrel was scratched Action is smooth w good feeding and extraction of the 45/70 torpedoes Beautiful gun makes it hard to resist Cowboy loads 405 gr. Are manageable w recoil

Shipped quick. Overall fit and finish are great. The quality is there. My only complaint is the action would hang up a few times when attempting to close the lever. Something was binding up. If you closed the action with a purpose, it would work. I have older Marlins and this was never a problem. As it is now breaking in, it is getting much better. I do like the rifle and would recommend it! I will take it hunting this fall. Beautiful rifle in person!! Thanks Buds for quick shipping.

This was another purchase at Bud's at an excellent price. There is no question that this is my favorite rifle in the collection. It is compact and very fast handling. The peep sights are very easy to use and I like the rail in case I would want to add some type of optic. The action is smooth and feeds the large .45/70 shells well. The trigger is good for a hunting rifle. This gun is just fun to shoot. We like to shoot watermelons at 200 yards. I hand load lead cowboy ammo for general range shooting and load hunting ammo at three different levels that will handle a wide spectrum of game. Every hunter should have one of these Marlins.

For a thousand dollar rifle. I\'m certainly disappointed. From the stock being cracked right down the middle, to the bolt being machined crooked, so it will not sit flush or line up when closing the beach. Still functions ,but wow. Did i mention this is a thousand dollar gun? Marlin has a long way to go in earning any customers back. I would expect something with this many flaws brand new, to be made in Korea, not the United States. Should have bought the Henry.
