Great Rifle, it's light weight and I really like the fact that it's based on the ar-15 platform. It shoots well and I haven't had one single issue with it since I purchased it from Buds. I was a bit worried that it would have the ejector issue but after about 150rnds so far and a few rapid fires and double taps..nothing. I didn't get a lemon ! Now I just have to get a decent red dot sight and it will be a sweet little tactical .22 to practice with versus using my Ar-15. Bud's has the best prices around period.

Update to my 02/08/2010 entry....Feeding problem repaired by Smith&Wesson in a two week turn around. This .22 is absolutely a blast now.Feeds/ejects perfectly on any highn velocity ammo. Accuracy is amazing. Would rate it 5 stars and recommend it as a buy.

I put the M&P15-22 on layaway at Bud's in Mid-January and picked it up at my FFL the end of February. This was my first purchase from Bud's -- as a matter of fact, my first online firearm purchase. Bud's was awsesome! Their communication was excellent. Great experience from beginning to end. I finally got the 15-22 to the range 2 weeks after receiving it. During the layaway term, I purchased a spare magazine at a gun show. So, before going to the range, I carefully loaded both mags, and from what I've read and heard, care in loading is crucial. Its important to pull the load assist tabs just enough to allow space for the round, while letting the spring apply a little upward pressure against the round as you slide it home. This seems to keep the rounds in a staggered pattern as viewed from the slot in the rear of the magazine. I put 100 CCI copper clad target rounds through it without a hiccup. Even with a couple rapid fire bursts of 5 to 7 rounds, no problems. This is a fun firearm, I'd recommend it to anyone... and Bud's has the best price including shipping that I'd found.

Ordered the M&P15-22 from Bud's in Mid-January and finally got out to shoot it this last weekend. I'd read quite a bit on problems reported by owners at the S&W forums (OOB discharges, and detonating extractor/bolt assemblies) requiring folks to send it back to Smith to have it 'updated'. Regardless, I decided to take the chance on this light .22LR AR clone as I was looking for something for my young son that he could shoulder and gain familliarity with the AR layout. Additionally, the M&P 15-22 has a solid barrel, unlike the thin-walled Umarex/Colt M4 replica, and has a functional bolt release. Ran 350+ rounds of Remington Golden Bullets (aka Golden Bombs) through it with no issues other than the (completely expected) 1 rnd/mag Failure-to-fire (hey, if you shoot golden bullets, you know what I'm talking about). No failures to feed, or failures to eject. Just ran like a top and was quite impressed with my 50 yard, standing unbraced iron sight accuracy. Easily as accurate as I can get with my stock Ruger 10/22. I'll be heading out again next weekend to run a few hundred more golden bombs through it and will update if any issues are encountered.

This .22 looks good, feels good, and, is very accurate when it does feed. Mine did not have an ejection problem, but, does have a feeding problem.Sent mine back to Smith for repairs. Good price at Buds and service was good, but,I would not buy this .22 again as it seems to be plagued with problems.I am waiting for the return of mine from Smith&Wesson.

I purchased one of these 11/23/09 and picked it up a few days later. I gave it to my son for christmas, and today (12-28-09) was the first time we had a chance to fire it. We were using federal american eagle ammo, not top shelf stuff by any stretch... put 400 rounds through it and it only mis-fired about 5 times, all ammo problems, the rifle performed flawlessly. Great little rifle at a great price!!!! Thanks Bud's!!!!!
