The 226x59AR is so accurate and is a big improvement over the standard 226 9 mm with 4.4" BL with my shooting skills. The test target that came with the unit indicate less than 1" grouping of 5 shots at 25 m (might as well be 25 yards) give or take. Overall, it'll be your new standard once you own 226x5 9mm or .40 S&W calibers. The 226x5AR came from Buds in excellent condition.

No failures so far in 250 rounds of cheap 115 grain ball. Double action is a little stiff, but will probably smooth out in time, single action is absolutely perfect, no creep and reasonably light. The weight really soaks up what little recoil the 9mm produces and the sights are excellent. The fit and finish are what you would expect from a 100% German Sig. I'm very happy with it.

This is a very nicely made pistol except for the trigger. It could be best described as a three-stage as delivered, with a moderate take-up, a stiffer gritty take-up as it disengages the firing pin safety, then an unpredictable gritty break. Double action is heavy and equally un-smooth. Sig offers a special "Auto Enhancement Package" for the X5AR for $199.99, but for a $1,400 pistol I expected more. I own over 20 Sigs including various 22x series in virtually every configuration and caliber including four Sig Sport models. This has the worst trigger of all. Otherwise it's a beautiful pistol, well fitted and with the old-style internal 1911 extractor. It's also accurate with virtually no recoil...just a bad trigger. If I were doing over I would pay a few hundred more for one of the single action X5s. There are not enough stars to rate Buds. Doing business with them was outstanding as usual.
