Not bad for the price, had some issues the first couple times out, after the first round Jam, clear, Jam, ect... until the mag was down to 5 rounds, and then the failure rate went down, I bought 3 extra mags load 6 rounds all is good. I have put 500 rounds through it and two of the magazines are getting better. i think the problem is more the $10 plastic magazines.

Purchased this gun and Bud's shipped it very fast. Gun is a fun little plinker. Upon receiving it, I stripped, cleaned and polished the integral parts. I fired a few mags of federal cheap bulk ammo and had about a 50% fte/ftf/fail to return to battery. I took it apart again, found that the magazines supplied SUCK, so I sprayed some gun lube in them and had my kids push them down a few dozen times with a screw driver. I also had to stretch the slide spring out about another 1/2" and noticed some burs which I cleared off with the dremel that were near the extractor snags the casing. Put her back together and she was firing fine. Accuracy was real nice without having to file the front sight (will file once I get my bench rest to "zero it in"). If you are looking to spend about $200 on a cheap 22 and do a lil work to it yourself...this is it. My old man (an ex-marine) picked it up, compared it to his original 1911 and said he liked it, but he didn't like the barrel design. I convinced him to get the sig 1911-22 from a local shop. Can't wait to go plinking with him since a typical .45 ACP outing lasts about an hour and eats up about $60. This plinker lasts a few hours and eats up $20.

I'll write a follow up later in the week but I bought this from Buds about 2 weeks ago. First, Great Job for Buds. The Puma 1911-22. Well I shot Federals our out if up to about 30 rounds when it stated to jamb. Found out the shells were getting stuck in the chamber like the chamber was shrinking. The grouping was way off the charts as well, covering a good 8 inches. I'm going to try it again this week with CCI's (gag, expensive) and see how they do. Not so happy at the moment tho. I'll give 3 stars, but mostly for Buds, not the gun.

This is an updated review of the Puma 1911 22LR autoload pistol. I did my first review on January 18, 2012. At that time I rated this firearm with a single STAR. Not a very good rating. At that time, I had been using Remington ammunition and the gun constantly jammed. Since that time I have cleaned the weapon at least 4 times and have put thru about 350 rounds of American Eagle HV rounds. You wouldn't believe the difference. In the past two weeks I have put 200 rounds thru it with only a single stove pipe. The only problem I have encountered recently is the fact that the rear site got loose and fell off. A bit of the "blue" Loctite fixed that. I must admit the dumb gun is beginning to grow on me. After putting 100 rounds thru it today, without a malfunction, I changed back to Remington ammo and it jammed 3 times in 7 shots. Went back to the American Eagle ammo and it never missed a stroke. Overall I would now give it at least 3 stars. Still wouldn't recommend it to a new shooter. If you have the patients to work out the kinks, you can have fun with this gun. From reading the other reviews, it looks like buying this gun is a real shot in the dark. Good luck.

This is a little fire-breathing dragon that is a lot of fun !!!!!! On the 7th day it arrived. Not bad considering it came from Kentucky to Oregon via USPS. (along with another purchase) After opening and examining the Puma I was elated. I could not believe I purchased this gun for $199.00! Since I had previously read the reviews I followed the instructions and cleaned it. (this was not necessary as gun was not least bit dirty, but the process got me familiar with it) At this point I got the feeling that maybe it did not shoot. Took it to the range the following day shot 1400 fps plus ammo as this was recommended in many reviews. The gun shoots great, no problems with FE or FF. I then shot just one clip of 1200 plus standard 500 pack 22 with no problems. I will continue to fire the higher velocity until I feel the gun is broken in. With regard to the clip issue it is apparent they will not hold up for the long haul. I have ordered an additional pair in the event of early failure. I can see where a breakdown or wear issue will be developing. I don't consider the clips being much of an issue considering the overall quality of the firearm. I'm 70, and have and have had, many handguns. This appears to be one of my better buys. Very happy!!! Curt

Like the other disapointed purchasers I had problems with this gun jambing up every two shots. The magazine is loose as well. As soon as I got the gun I cleaned it then off to the range, only to find out that I now own a two hundred dollar paper weight.
