This gun is a tack driver, but keep in mind it can get a little heavy by the time you get a scope and bipod on it, so it's not a great scouting around gun, very impressed with fit and finish, very happy with purchase, Thanks Buds

Love the rifle. It is more accurate than I expected. I'm getting 5 shot groups in the .40-.50 range with Berger 55 FB Target bullets as well as Sierra 53 grain match bullets. I've used TAC powder and W 748 with great results. The upper and lower are very tight. I have to use a punch to remove the rear takedown pin and the trigger is typical milspec. I've changed out the factory trigger. Overall, very pleased with rifle and pleasantly surprised by accuracy. I have a RRA Predator Pursuit that doesn't shoot as well as this rifle. I have 100-150 rounds through rifle with one failure to fire. I attribute that to the .223 chamber but I think it lends itself to being more accurate. I think if I keep the chamber clean and the rifle properly lubed it will be no problem. I bought it for bench shooting so I could care less if it hangs up once in awhile if it shoots like this one does!

As always, BUD'S was perfect. Super fast delivery, best in class, hands down, take no prisoners perfect. But now the rifle. Absolutely beautiful barrel. I love the smooth free floated forearm. The flat-top receiver and the front gas block mount were perfectly aligned. That's all good stuff. Now the disappointments. After buying 2 Bushmasters, I was spoiled with great attention to detail. DPMS needs to take some pointers from them. Cycling the action sounded like a dry chalkboard with a 3 year old and a box of sidewalk chalk. So I tore it down. The applied finish on the bolt and the inside channel of the receiver was more like a sand blast finish than anything else I have encountered. Now I know why DPMS says to over-lubricated the bolt assembly when breaking it in. A couple of hours with some buffing compound and a scotch pad smoothed it all out. A light polishing with FP-10 oil to make it right. The inside of the receiver got a light wipe of FP-10 as well. The standard A2 stock was a major disappointment. This thing looks like a kids toy injection molded water gun. Sharp molding seams, The recoil pad does not cover the end of the stock, leaving sharp edges along the sides and bottom where it does not fit. This is one of those 12 dollar stocks you see in the dunage bin at the local gun shows. I have a MAGPUL ordered to replace it with. After cleaning the barrel, I gave the gas tube a shot of air to make sure it was cleaned out good. To my dismay, I got a puff of oil mist from the roll pin hole out both side of the gas block. It turns out the roll pin was too small, and the roll pin gap was turned toward the gas tube, allowing air to enter the roll pin and discharge out the sides of the gas block. Anyone think that might affect the gas supply to the bolt assembly? I replaced the pin with the appropriate pin, and turned it the correct direction. I have a load workup sitting in the carrier now, so it all goes to the range for some breakin-testing this weekend. I have high expectation for this rifle, since I expect to be popping 'yotes at 300 yards with it. So rating this is a bit tough, Bud's gets 5 stars, but that is every time I use them, The barrel and assembly gets 5 stars. The fit and alignment is excellent. The rifling is perfect, that chamber is tight and smooth. The care and detail with the rest of the rifle is third class. A stock that does not fit, moving parts that grind, finishes that are not finished, and general lack of attention to the things that should be better. Overall, the rifle gets a 3, Bud's get a 5. My next one will be something other than a DPMS

I recently purchased this dpms with a bull barrel for my wife. She wanted to start shooting and hunting with me. She loves it and so do I. She is now shooting 2 inch groups at 300 yards and can hit a pie plate at 400. Great target and hunting rifle, a little heavy for an AR, but really well made gun. Aluminium upper and lower, as well as the free floating handguard. No sites, no scope, but it does come with a "decent" plastic case and a sling. No recoil at all, no muzzle rise and with the free floating handguard you can rest it on anything and not mess up the harmonics. Over 2500 rnds no problems. Buds was great as usual!
