This is my second piston driven M&P. Bought the PS version this time to add my own hand guard (free floating) versus the PSX. The rifle operates flawlessly and runs clean with any type of ammo. You can't beat the price and customer service at Bud's. **$100 rebate for military**! That's a piston driver AR for under $1,000 produced by a reputable firearms manufacturer.

This is my first piston gun. I have owned two Colts and carried more while in the USMC. The fit and finish is equal to the Colt's I've previous experience with and I am quite happy with that. Oddly, while reviewing the owners manual I discovered that the piston guns have an extra spring in the bolt that DGI rifles do not have. My piston gun was missing this spring. I called S&W and they are shipping me the spring. As they said it would take 7-10 days I ran to the hardware store and bought a spring that fit. I have my own 50 yard range so took it out, partly just to check function with the non oem spring I substituted. This rifle shoots! I punched a .486 group, (measured outside to outside) and put ten rounds into about .6 inch. I will shoot it at a longer range soon but this is a great start! I have a 1-4 power Leupold on it. I handled one of these at my local gun store so knew they have heavy triggers. The trigger scale broke just over and under 8 pounds on several trys. I will put a lighter trigger in soon which can only make it shoot better. Buds took seven days to ship(I should have sent a postal money order instead of a personal check) but I saved $200 over the price of the local gun store so I cannot complain too much. I am well pleased with this rifle!
