After owning the firearm for several months and appx. 250 rounds, I could not be more happy with this revolver. Heavy? Yes. Large, Yes. But these knocks were known going into the purchase. Incresed round count, Pro Center enhacements are GREATLY appreciated. The trigger was the best I have ever owned, out of the box. , and smoothing more with every pull if the trigger. Not easy for concealed carry, but a pancake from SimplyRugged has been put to good use. I am also picking up a 642 Pro with Crimson Trace LG405 grips, for lighter summer needs. This firearm has proven to be a wonderful revolver, although the price was awfully steep. Only had to pay it once...

This gun arrived in poor condition. This is probably not a negative reflection on Buds Gun Shop, however the gun arrived with an overtightened barrel that was not square to the fame, the overtightening caused excessive stress on the top strap and frame... This gun has been returne to smith and wesson for warranty repairs/replacement. I feel that a revolver that costs over $800.00 and is illegidely from the "Performance Center" should have had a little extra TLC...just my $0.02.

This is a solid revolver that packs a lot of firepower. Mine arrived with the barrel canted so significantly that the sights could not be adjusted enough to bring rounds on target. I contacted Smith and Wesson and they paid the FedEx charges both ways to return the gun and fix it. Also it was spitting lead on one chamber and they fixed that for me as well. The service was excellent and prompt, but their quality control folks really should have caught this before the revolver left the factory. After the repairs, this revolver functions just as designed. Dealing with Buds was great. They had the pistol in stock, sold it for a competitive price, provided fast shipping and made it easy to follow my order on line. Another smooth and easy transaction with Buds and I will buy from them again anytime. Thanks. Tom S.

Purchased this firearm a few months ago. Made some modification to the grips, as the stock grips were uncomfortable for my admittedly large hands. Swapped them out for a set af Ahrends (sp?). Excellent condition, with no indication of tooling/machining marks others have complained of. I am not enamored with the laser engraving on barrel, as it is painfully obvious that these will wear away very quickly, given the amount of holster time this handgun will receive. Accurate, with no discomfort shooting 125-158 gr full-house rounds. Appreciated the general appearance of this unit and, having never been able to afford a Performance Center revolver, jumped at the opportunity. Nice firearm, don't know if it's as good as the $800+ price would indicate. My inclination would be toward a nice, used K frame 357 for future purchase.

Another fine experience with Buds. Good price, great communication, easy terms and fast shipping. It doesn't get much easier. This revolver is a handful. Eight runs of .357 is a lot of power in a small, but solid, package. Shot 100 rounds today and everything ran fine. Very nice trigger from the folks at the Smith and Wesson Performance Center. I have a holster on order and will see what it is like to carry this firearm.

At the time I ordered this Smith & Wesson M627 Performance Center revolver from Bud's the price was $875.00 which was a tad higher than the S&W M629 Performance Center counterpart at the time. To be honest I should not have taken ownership of this gun when it was delivered to my dealer but I regret that I did. I have been collecting and shooting for 27 years and have seen the good, the bad and the ugly on workmanship from Smith & Wesson over the years. No matter who has owned Smith & Wesson the workmanship has been inconsistent. Where is the qulaity control on this high priced Performance Center revolver? The tool marks and wavy lines on the frame and the barrel should not exist with today's precision machinery. There were scratches on the frame and barrel as well. This was a new gun! Even the grips were machined sloppily with a major cosmetic and physical flaw. The gun is now for sale at a local gun shop where I will take at least a $275.00 loss. This is no exaggeration. With future purchases I will be more careful in regards to Smith & Wesson's quality.
