I picked up the pistol yesterday, brought it home and cleaned it up, stripped it and cleaned it and took it out for a test run.
It is Italian made and the fit and finish is very nice. The three 17 round mags are very good and loading was pretty easy. I mostly shoot 1911's and find the 17 rounders also alot of fun.
The pistol ran perfectly and was pretty accurate. With the big mags I found that I had run through over 200 rounds very quickly and without one malfunction. I am very satisfied with the new Beretta.
The downside is that the trigger is very heavy and there are alot of plastic parts on the pistol. I don't like the plastic guide rodwith captive spring much or the plastic trigger. I have already ordered the metal trigger and Elite hammer from Beretta and all new springs from Wilson plus their metal fluted guide rod and slim grips. I have a Beretta Compact set up like this and it shoots MUCH better and is more accurate. The metal trigger has a better feel and no flex and the springs and hammer helped change the trigger pull on the Compact from a little over 6# single action and 10# double action to 4.2#'s and 8#'s. A huge difference.
It is a little agrivating that gun company's these days use a few inferior parts on they firearms but then they and other companys sell after market parts to bring the weapons up to what they should have been in the first place, for a price. In this case turning a $700 pistol into a $1000 pistol. But, it is what it is. In any case I am very happy with the purchase and will be even happier with it after the upgrades.
