Just got the gun in two days ago. Put 150 rounds of Tennessee Cartridge Ammunition through it. This gun doesn't like that ammo! When using that ammo my wife had FTE every 2 rounds or so. At first I thought it was because she was "limp wristing" the gun but I shot it right after her and it did the same for me. I even cleaned the gun and tried but to the same effect.
Changed to Federal and no problems. The pistol came sighted way low, adjusted and plinked 11/17 swing targets at the range.
This gun is so so with reloaded ammo, I get some ftf and some fte with them. My brothers Baretta was having the same problems so I know its the ammo there.
I don't like the small clip while in the gun as there isn't much against the palm of my hand and with the clip I'm not as good a shot. My wife loves the smal clip as the gun fits her hand great so theres the love hate relationship with the clips there. Over-all this is a great gun and my wife and I's first hand gun. The gun has little recoil and is very light.
As far as the ammo is concerned while I was at the range I met a gentleman who told me he had problems with that brand and the crimp is what causes the fte. I don't know the validity to the statement, just repeating what I heard. The gun had no trouble with other ammo and even the reloads had less problems than the Tennessee ammo.
With all this being said, I would definately buy this gun again. I shot a few other branded guns, Baretta, S&W, Kimber, and Sig and the only one I liked more was a 357 magnum revolver.
I'm thinking about buying the SR9 regular size for my self!
