Always been sort of a Ruger person...have several rifles made by them, as well as a target .22 pistol. When the first P85 came out...I waited 8 months to get one..but, that was back in the day and have since sold it. It would fire anything...but...shot everywhere too. First larger caliber(9mm) with a striker, always been a hammer man. To me...the smaller clip kinda feels like you don\'t have enough grip, in you hands...the larger clip with clip extension gives you more control and to me, just handles better. You also have, a lot more rounds. Pistol worked well for the first 100 rounds...then...had light strikes....no fires. I was just about to send the pistol back to Ruger for a check, which they were more than willing to do...but after some reading via the web...seems this is a common problem with these. You HAVE to clean the striker works...because with the factory packing grease/oil...or whatever they use....it hardens over time and causes you light strike issues after some rounds. After a good cleaning...it went back to be flawless. 4 stars for the light strikes..how long that will last, can\'t tell yet as I carry the .380 Bersa Thunder Plus for CC...it is, just more comfortable to carry via a pocket...vs CC with the Ruger behind my back, especially while driving, etc.

I highly recommend this gun! I put just over a hundred rounds through the Ruger SC last week and it fed and fired every one! My first shots were Hornady Critical Defense, 115gr. and the rest were mixed brands of 115gr. FMJ. I only had one malfunction, a failure to fire due to a hard primer on one of the FMJ rounds. Carrying the gun has been a dream, small and lightweight enough to conceal easily, while not feeling like a toy.

I have been very fortunate purchasing this beautiful handgun from Budsgunshop. Right out of the box it was very accurate, smooth & very comfortable shooting, very low recoil for a 9mm. especially having the compact option. Every experienced shooter that gave my pistol a test absolutely loved it. This gun may not be the best for carry because of the weight, although it does fit nice in the Blackhawk holsters. However, I do believe the price of it will only increase in the coming years because it was so well designed and it's getting harder to find. I definitely give this gun a 5 star rating out of 5!

After putting my first 100 rounds through this gun, I'm extremely happy with the purchase. It performed flawlessly with three different types of ammunition. Not a single malfunction of any kind. It just looks and feels like quality. It also shoots extremely accurately right out of the box. I'd say that it made me look better than I am. It's a very comfortable handgun, and I like the ability to use either the 10 or 17 round magazine. The 10 will make a nice, compact, carry piece, and the 17 can either tag along or live in the nightstand. The manual is pretty well-written; I looked through it to be sure that I was familiar with everything before putting ammunition through it. I saw online where some people had trouble with slide manipulation, but it's all working very well for me. Field stripping is quick and very straightforward, and I have no issues locking the slide, or releasing it. I know some people have passionate feelings about the safety, as well as the loaded chamber indicator. I'm not going to try to change anybody's mind, but I kind of like having the safety when carrying with one in the chamber, and the LCI simply doesn't bother me. Would I design the gun that way? No, but it's not enough to put me off of the gun considering everything else it has going for it. Thanks also to Bud's for the smooth order processing. Everything was easy, quick, and painless, from putting the SR9C into my cart, to paying, to picking it up at the local FFL.

Great gun!! took it to the range and put 150 rounds thru it and performed like a stud. Slide release is a little stiff, wasn't able to release with just my thumb. Maybe I'm just use to a Beretta slide release or after a couple of cleanings it will loosen up. Definitely a great first gun, didn't have any of the stiff trigger issues others had breaking it in, oh plus $150 cheaper than any gun store in the area.
