After a couple months of trying to decide between the Ruger SR9c, Smith & Wesson MP9 and the XD, I decided on the Ruger. I have an SR22 and have really enjoyed it. So far, I have nothing but good things to say about this gun. First thing I can't stress enough is what a fabulous trigger this gun has, better than any Glock 9 I've ever fired and I've fired lot's of Glocks. The sights are easy to line up, the recoil is easy and through about 500 rounds, not one issue at all. I like the 17-round mag that comes with this gun, better than the 10-round mag - I'd suggest buying another 17-round mag to go with this gun. The sleeve that comes with the 17-round mag, gives it a better grip and fits nicely, but watch when you shove in the mag, you'll pinch your hand if your not careful. I purchased this gun online and had it at my dealer within 5 days, very impressed with Bud's as always. I don't think you can find a better 9mm under $500!

Nothing negative that I can write, the purchase was made smoothly and I received the gun in good time. I have thoroughly enjoyed this gun, it is my constant companion and on the range it does the job as good or better than I expected. I have called Ruger several times for information regarding accessories and information and they always were professional and treated me with respect.

This is one of the most under-appreciated and BEST firearms available. What I am going to say is going to sound like heresy to some, but it has truly been my experience. The Ruger SR9c has been entirely trouble-free for over 1500 rounds and puts the bullet exactly where I point it at any range. You don't have to take my word for it; you can look at accuracy tests online by Brokosok ( where he reviews this model and you can even compare it to another video where he reviews actual competition guns. The Ruger SR9c performs just as well at long range in the hands of this person. I bought this gun being new to guns, and it has always made me look very good. Before buying it, I tried the Glock and M&P9c; the Ruger SR9c had by far the best trigger out of all of them. The only thing that may be better than this trigger on a stock striker-fired pistol is the PPQ from what I hear, but that's a slightly larger gun. As far as my experience, it has been a trouble-free gun, stupidly easy to be accurate with, and very easy to carry with the N82 professional and Remora holsters. I cannot say enough good things about this gun. Glocks seem to get all of the praise because of their deserved reputation for reliability, but if you can open your mind enough to try this gun long term, you will see that it is easier to shoot because of the superior trigger and is just as reliable. As for the safety features that everyone complains about, I like them. Different strokes for different folks. Give this one a chance at the gun range and see if it is for you. You won't regret it!

Great gun! Picked this up at Bud's the 2nd week of July. Transaction was smooth. Took it home and cleaned it. Very easy to field strip and reassemble. Have put 100 rounds thru it with only a couple of rounds failing to fire. That may have been the ammos fault.

This is my first handgun. So far it feels great in the hand and seems to be as accurate as I can possibly be given my skill level. It did fail to eject or stove pipe 100% of the time when using Ammo Kan branded 115 grain reloads. I did not have any issues with boxed ammo like Speer Lawman, etc. My mom tried it and it failed to eject or stove piped a lot for her...probably a limp wrist jam but something to watch for if you're a new shooter. One thing I didn't hear about at all when I first researched this gun is how INCREDIBLY TIGHT THE SLIDE IS. Oh my goodness, it takes so much force to rack the slide on this that if you slip you might end up losing a finger! I have about 200 rounds through it and racked the slide manually about 1000 times too to try and loosen's a little better now but still way too difficult for my wife to be comfortable with it. You can't press the slide release and let it snap forward like a have to slingshot it. If you are thinking about this as a family gun or a lady's gun, try to get your hands on it to try the slide first. The 10 round magazine feels great in my full grown man hands with the pinky extension and even better at the range with the 17 round magazine. The fact that it comes with both magazines plus a speed loader and a gun lock in a plastic box makes for a nice kit.
