Got this lil GSG for my sons and I to shoot since my oldest (10 yrs old) is a military history nut and I thought it would be more fun than a Ruger etc. The gun came almost completely dry and the rails had some of the coating on them making them gritty and a little sticky. A little touch up on the rails and some oil and the thing shoots well with bulk ammo! An occasional FTF has been rare and no more often than friends' Rugers, Brownings etc. It has become a family favorite! And the price at Bud's can't be beat.

Right out of the box at my FFL's shooting range I could not resist shooting about 250 rounds (CCI Mini Mag, CCI Blazer, and Federal Bulk). I did have a few FTE and FTL. I then cleaned the gun thoroughly and added a CW accessories compensator to improve rapid fire accuracy (also looks cool and makes the gun a little louder). During my 2nd visit to the range, I also broke in 3 new magazines. One of the mags gave me lots of FTL problems, but the gun performed great. Not until 800 rounds without cleaning on this visit did it start having problems loading rounds. It's a great gun and I suspect if bore snaked every 300 rounds or so will perform great. I very happy with both the GSG 1911 and Bud's great service.

I ordered this gsg and received from buds in I believe three business days thumbs up. Took gsg 1911 to range without cleaning because it looked good to go. Well had no problems with it, used federal bulk, blazer cheapo, and cci. It ate everything no problem and was accurate. I had nice tight groups. I love the way the gsg looks and feels, very similar to a 1911 I have in. 45 acp. I elected to go with gsg over other 1911-.22lr I looked at because of impressive quality. A must have if your looking for a 1911-.22lr. Thumbs up!

Looks to be an excellent gun so far. Before I even tried the gun, I replaced the plastic guide rod with a stainless steel rod from CW Accessories ($16). There was some grittyness in the slide action at first, so I also cleaned the gun thoroughly to get the black residue off the finish on all metal to metal to metal contact surfaces. The slide action was nice and smooth before I fired it. So far I have only fired 170 rounds of CCI Mini-Mag round nose 40 grain and CCI Stinger hollow point 32 grain. The gun performed flawlessly.... no problems at all... and is very accurate. Next time I'll try some of the cheap ammo since the gun appears to be broken in already.

This is a great pistol for the price. Once I received my GSG 1911-22, which looked great right out of the box, I disassembled and lubed all the moving parts then it was out to the range. I shot 200plus rounds of Remington 36 grain high velocity hollow points. I'm going to experiment with CCI mini mags next time. With 200 plus rounds I had only two failure to feeds. One was due to the slide release, this pistol likes the "slingshot" method much better. The other ftf occurred due to faulty magazine loading. I wasn't loading all of the clips. Other than that I am really pleased. Hopefully it lasts for a while. My only complaint is the Hex screw that needs to be taken out in order to take apart the pistol.
