What can I say that hasn't been said already? This is a great gun, and has become the standard by which other quality target pistols are judged. This model with the cocobolo grips is especially nice (in my opionion) because it is very easy to change the grips if you want to and use standard .45 1911 grips. I'm happy with the grips that came with. The gun is reliable and a great value for the money.

Brought this pistol for compitition shooting. VERY pleased with this purchase, shot tight groups and after one adjustment right on. Pistol feel great and shoots smooth. As for problem...putting back together took a little time but Im confident that after a cpl time will be second nature. Would reccommend to friends!!

I bought this Ruger thinking i had bought a good 22 pistol but I was wrong! It misfired right of the box first day at the range and then if that was not bad enough when I took the thing apart to clean it I could not get it back together I followed the directions to the letter. I latter found out this is a BIG and I mean BIG issue with this gun. Ruger you should have known better then to make such a pice of junk like this. Now I have to send it back to the factory and pay another transfer fee to my FFL Dealer to get back and then find a buyer for this thing. Im going to loose a ton of money on this thing. I would rather have a cheap revolver which I wish I had bought now. This thing is a nightmare to put back together trust me I don't care who says different if you buy this gun You Will BE SORRY!!!!!! P.S. Buds was not to blame in anyway concerning this gun they did a great job on there part.

Absolutely perfect for me to start getting into .22 bulls-eye competition. Do a little research and find that these are amonge the most reliable accurate pistols under five hundred. I haven't found a brand of ammo that mine does not like. Shot 1000 rounds with less than 5 total failures which was with cheap winchester white box ammo. It shoots the bulk Rem and Fed just fine. Cleaning is not that hard just try not to think that you know what you are doing and follow the manual step by step or else things can get forced together incorrectly. The wood grip RP version is worth the extra $30-40 they are top quality, give you more aftermarket options and make it look more respectable like a real gun and not a toy. Really love this gun. My dad had a Mark II target that I shot all the time as a kid so this newer model 22/45 really takes me back.

I am a new shooter with both a 1911 and .38 spl revolver. I didn't have to shop for ammunition very long before realizing you can shoot .22LR for about 10% of the cost of .45 ACP. At first I was looking at .22LR conversions for my 1911, but after reading forum comments on them I get the impression they are finicky as well as expensive. Several posts recommended the Ruger 22/45 as an alternative. You get a gun that feels like a 1911 with similarly placed controls. Plus for about the same money as a conversion you get a whole gun designed to shoot .22LR from the ground up. I researched the 22/45s and after reading the review on decided on the model 10140 with replaceable wood grip panels. I watched several websites to find one in stock. None of the "competitive" sites had them. Got several stockwatch emails from one, but they were always out of stock by the time I got them. Finally saw it in stock at Bud's early one Friday mornng, so decided to pull the trigger on the order. That was 2/24. Bud's said they would ship in 3 - 7 days. Didn't actually ship until 3/7, 9 business days later. Calls and email to customer service were a waste of time. After 8 days got a blanket email saying that Bud's was swamped with orders and shipments were delayed as a result. I get it, but here's the rub: Bud's charged my CC on the 24th and then didn't ship for 12 days. Most online retailers won't charge your card until thay ship, especially when they know your order is going to be delayed. I picked up the gun from my FFL Friday. (He confirmed that gun sales are through the roof this year.) It was obvious it would need a good cleaning before being shot as it was loaded with gun grease. I cleaned it that night and got to experience first hand what so many reuger pistol owners complain about. These guns are really tight. Follow the directions in the manual and watch the video on Ruger's website. It only took a few whacks from a small rubber hammer to unseat the receiver from the gripframe. Took several hard whacks from a large rubber mallet to reseat the grip frame. This is a real good looking gun. Even the wife likes it. With the heavy barrel, light grip frame, and nice grips the balance feels real good. Can't wait to get it to the range. I'll post another review when I do.
