Massive gun, blast to shoot! Well built gun, smooth finish, locks up nice and tight, this is just an amazing revolver, this coming from a guy who loves automatic handguns. SA is so smooth placed 6 headshots on a FS target at around 15 yards the first time with 45 LC's, recoil very manageable. 2nd time around now loaded with 3" PDX1 much closer of course destroyed the target, good amount of recoil with those babies. 3rd time around loaded with 454 Cassuls placed all 6 shots in the 5X at 15 yards, make sure to get a good grip before squeezing the trigger with 454's in there cause it kicks likes a mule. Only shells that had difficulty cycling was the 454's maybe the recoil kicks them slightly out of the chamber, found that before pulling the hammer back point the gun down and it chambers much better. Sure the bullets are high, but seriously this is just a bragging rights gun. For a 3" barrel this is one fine shooting revolver. This was my 6th purchase from Buds and it will most certainly not be my last. Buds has great prices and great customer service folks! Thanks Buds another smooth transaction.

This was my first Taurus and i was not sure what to expect. It is a beast. A handheld cannon (with the 454 casull). with its weight and size i am not sure it has any other purpose than to impress at the range or your buddies back yard. It has been accurate at 25 yards (3" group) with 45 long colt and 454 casull. Not sure how long i will keep it. Fun with no real purpose. Maybe if you have Bear problems :)

RESPONSE BY BUDS: Expect powder residue on guns from test firing my manufacturer. Taurus and S&W are notorious for not cleaning after test firing. Unlike retail stores, we do NOT unbox new guns and clean to put out on display. They are shipped exactly as they are received, New In Box. This is indeed a good looking, and BIG gun. The heft isn't as bad as 60.6 ounces sounds, but in hand it's a large iron. I was disappointed to find that while a quick inspection at my FFL looked OK, when I got it home and looked closer I found it had some number of rounds through it already. Both the bore and cylinder bores were quite dirty and there was powder staining on the barrel end of the cylinder. My bad for not checking it more closely at the FFL, but beware.

Very nice, super accurate and kicks less then my .22 pistol with .45LC. .454 is very fun to shoot but expensive. The grip really reduces kick compared to earlier models of this firearm. I would recommend if you are looking at other judges or governers to consider getting the heavier wt models capable of .454. One item that I did not consider but wish I would have noticed is the price of .45LC compared to .45 auto. The judge is LC govener is auto. Over time the price difference in rounds really adds up. All things considered I would buy this gun again and likely will one is fun two is even better.

This is a great gun. I've put a few hundred rounds through it and can tell you that it shoots 2" groups at 20 yards, which is good since the sights are not adjustable. It certainly weighs a lot - that can make it difficult to aim, but it definitely helps with recoil, and my girlfriend (all 120 lbs) hit the 10 ring several times averaging 7s. With an alternating load of 45 and 410 PDX1, that should do the job. Now the main reason I purchased this particular model was the ability to shoot the 454 Casull, which should be a good defense for hogs come hunting season. I fired some Magtech 260 gr rounds. Lemme tell you this round is powerful. You can feel a pressure wave coming off the muzzle. That said, I didn't find the recoil that bad. Seems lots of folks online talk about their wrist hurting or getting blown backward, I didn't find that at all. It hardly kicks on the 45 and 410, and the 454 though stout, is manageable. If you want a gun that does have the energy to deter hogs/bears, and you don't want to carry S&W 50 or some other Dirty Harry sized hand cannon, this is a solid alternative.
