The Remington 700 SPS TACT AAC-SD 308 Hogue Overmolded Ghillie Green is just a great rifle right out of the box. Bought this rifle to build it up over time. Stock, trigger, etc... The worse thing I can say about the rifle is the trigger. Like others have said It will not adjust to under four pounds. It will probably be one of the first things I change. I was able to shoot 3/4 inch groups and under at a hundred yards without a problem using factory ammo. Also Buds once again was outstanding with the order. Very quick processing and shipping.

This was my first Bud's purchase and I must say I was pleased with all aspects of the transaction. I have been a fan of Remington 700 rifles for decades and have one I purchased over 50 years ago along with several more over the years. I have never regretted purchasing any one of them. This gun was a little below the standards I have grown to expect from Remington. The 40X trigger is advertised as being adjustable. I was disappointed with the results. It originally weighed a little over 4 pounds. I adjusted in stages until the adjustment screw came out of the trigger housing. Even then the trigger still weighed a full 4 pounds. That is much too heavy for a precision sniper rifle that I was building with this action. I had to replace it with a quality aftermarket trigger. Upon first firing the rifle, the bolt was extremely hard to open. Closer examination revealed that the problem was the face of the bolt. The exterior finish of the bolt is rather course and it seemed particularly thick on the bolt face. The bolt face had not been polished and it was claiming a sandpaper like grip on the base of the cartridge. To continue shooting I had to lubricate the bolt face to make it possible to close and open it. I am about half way through my break in of the barrel but it appears that it will be very accurate in the new custom stock I placed it in. I have already seen a 5 shot 100 yard group of less than .5". I cannot evaluate how it would shoot with the original stock since I replaced it before ever firing the rifle. Overall, the Remington 700 is still the best rifle for out of the box accuracy and reliability but they cut a few too many corners on this "Tactical" version in the fit and finish departments.

Got my Remmington AAC SD recenly. Still working on getting it set up fully. I will be using this weapon for mostly hunting and some long range shooting. Out of the box, the rifle was in excellent condition. gave it a good once over with my gunsmith. First impressions is dissapointment in the Houge stock. There were obvious contact points with the barrle. But replacing it was part of the plan from the start. I intend to go with the Bell & Carlson Fully Adjustable Medalist. the trigger was very crisp. No detectable slop. But a bit heavier than the 3.5lbs advertised. Haven't bothered to shoot it yet since There is a good bit of changing to do. Once I do, I will update my findings. As for rifle condition and service by Bud's, I would rate both as excellent. Keep up the good work.

This rifle is everything I was hoping it would be and more. Going by some of the other reviews I was a little worried about the stock and thought I would have to get a better stock right away. After holding it and getting on the range with it, I find it's not to bad. It's got a better feel to it than the standard synthetic stocks and I don't find it as flimsy as some people make it out to be. I may eventually get a bell & carlson M40 stock but the Hogue it came with is fine for now. Rifle shoots like a dream, nice groups, and doesn't kick to hard at all because of the heavy barrel. The trigger seems fine. I have not adjusted it but may play around with it next time I go to the range. Probably replace it eventually too, but just like the stock, they are both better than I expected after reading some other reviews. Its a fine rifle right out of the box and when you're ready you can customize things as time and money permit. I purchased the rifle with the 90 day lay away plan and when I made the last payment Buds had the gun at my locale FFL in 3 days. Rifle was in perfect condition and the entire transaction from start to finish went without a hitch or snag. It was a pleasure doing business with Buds and I would not hesitate to buy from them again. As of this writing, it's been 2 days since I was at the range and can't wait to go back. This rifle really is nice to shoot.

It took me two years to put this gun together (suppressor, scope, bipod, etc.). Very accurate for a novice shooter at 100 yards. Very light kick thanks to the recoil pad. The stock itself has a nice feel and color to it. Nice trigger feel as well. My only complaint: the bolt does not seem to push the next round into the chamber well, so I simply feed each round through the top, individually. Still, I'm happy with my purchase. I highly recommend Bud's Gun Shop.

Very accurate rifle, the stock is junk and feels like a wet noodle, swapped mine out for an MDT and id say its the most accurate rifle ive shot, bolt action is smooth, would recommend this rifle. Buds shipping was good and the gun was 100%.
