This is a great gun, very fun to shoot. You will get a FTF if you use lead tipped rounds. Buy it, you'll love it! Buds as always was great!

UMAREX-COLT GOVT. 1911 .22lr: First, Bud's service. I ordeered this pistol on Sunday afternoon and it was delivered to my FFL on Thursday morning. Typical of Bud's. Now for the pistol itself. I bought this pistol for two reasons. I wanted a .22lr 1911 simialr to the Colt Ace I owned years ago. Second was the Walther quality. It is hard to beat. Since it arrived I've put almost a thousand rounds through it with only two failures to eject a spent round. Most likely the ammo. I've used Mini-mags and several brands of the cheaper, dirtier ammo without problems. Fit and finish is excellent. Groups are tight, the gun actually shoots better than I can. I have another brand of 1911 .22 and this Colt/Walther is a much better product.

Colt brand name distributed by UmarexUSA made by Walther of Germany (which is now a division of Smith & Wesson). This .22 LR is very similar in weight and size to the .45 ACP Colt Government Model Series 80 that I keep by handy by my bed at night.

You get what you pay for I guess, several FTF's out of a hundred or so rounds but that was probably the ammo's fault. When breaking down the pistol you can see the real lack of quality. Also, after the last round the slide stays back but closes when you extract the mag... which could cause a safety problem and a tactical issue when reloading. Talked to Umarex on the phone and they were clueless. Also the rear site was damaged and I had to provide them alot of paperwork to get a replacement, so much for sending in the warranty card! Overall a fair little pistol for the money but I'm surprised Colt put their name on it. TW
