EVERY THING good you read in some of these reviews is true. Bought a couple of months ago and have taken it to the range several times. Damn, shoots great. Feels fantastic in my hand. The Hogue grip just feels natural and really makes the gun easy to point. The sights work fine for a bright day or a well lighted range. Admittedly those places are where I usually shoot but am going to change out the sights and make it a real truck-defense gun. Cannot say much about Buds notifications. Never got one email from them. I found out I could pick it up by checking my account at their site. Pickup was easy and the clerk was like all of Buds personnel, customer oriented.

I had been wanting stainless.357 magnum for a while. I was torn between the S&W 686 and the GP 100. I had recently bought the GP 100 in .22lr and really liked it. From all of the reviews I had watched and read, I decided to go with the Ruger because it was regarded as "tank" like. I am so glad I did. I'm sure the Smith is a great revolver, but, I love the simplicity of the Ruger for complete disassembly. It is very accurate and the trigger pull is smooth which makes double action firing better. Save yourself the extra $$ and get the GP 100! You will not be disappointed.

I just picked up my Ruger GP 100 at my FFL this afternoon. This is my first purchase from Bud's and I'm very pleased with how well it went. I put my order in Saturday night and received it this friday. The gun was in good working order and had no issues so I accepted it. I am more than please with my revolver. The cylinder seems to be tight and the trigger is very good. Yes, it's a longer pull than a S&W but I don't mind at all. I will take it to the range later next week. I had thought I would replace the rubber grips with wood but so far I like them a lot. I have large hands and they work well for me. My first .357 Mag was a S&W 19 and this is much heavier than that one but I like the heft. This thing is very well built. The trigger is perfect for double action work. The single action pull is sweet. The double action pull is slightly heavier than a S&W but very smooth. I don't plan any modifications at this time. I really like the sights. I will buy the Ruger red sight but I'm not sure it's really needed. I think this is a very good alternative to the S&W 686. I saved a hundred bucks getting the Ruger and I have no regrets.
