This is a beautiful well made gun. The finish is perfect (I like the Nickel type finish) The gun fires with easily manageable recoil on either 38 or 357. It was dead on right out of the box and the 6" barrel makes it extremely accurate. This is not a conceal carry weapon. It's a large, heavy weapon that is a delight to shoot. I had trouble acquiring the front sight so I swapped it out for a fiber. (took less than a minute to change, cost about $25) The Hogue grip feels great and helps absorb what little recoil is felt. I've seen better looking grips but I think I'd be disappointed if I changed it now that I'm used to the Hogue. This grip might not be comfortable for a small hand but I haven't tested that theory. This quickly became one of my favorites at the range. (I've only got about 200 rounds through it.)

This revolver has proven to be rock solid and accurate, so far I have 100 rounds of .357 through it, 50 CCI Blazer 158gr JHP which has always been a good load in my experience even if the alum cases are sticky to extract, and 50 rounds of Sellier and Bellot FMJ, all shot fine and plenty accurate. Also 50 rounds of S&B FMJ .38 special, also with acceptable results. However, the finish looks, literally, like the final polishing was done by an angry monkey, with coarse grit sandpaper. It looks like a wartime military firearm, with tooling marks everywhere. And, there apparently was an extra tab of metal or something, at the end of the barrel threads, and when they installed the barrel into the frame, instead of removing the excess tab of metal beforehand, just screwed the barrel in leaving a tiny tab of excess metal to stick out from the barrel/frame gap, forevermore. Really lame Ruger QC. Solid gun that I have no doubt will shoot forever, but the finish almost shows contempt for the customer. Amazing.

This gun is a thing of beauty - although I did change out the factory sights. The gun shoots like a dream.

Great Revolver and Great Service through Bud's. NO Complaints about Ruger or Bud's

This is a superb revolver. It is build extremely well, the sights are on target and the recoil is easy to control. The grip is very comfortable and it seems to work well for nearly all sizes of hands. A few small gripes - I'll second the previous complaints about the black front sight (an easy fix with nail polish, etc). One other small gripe - when I clean the gun, there are many edges that catch filaments from my cleaning patches. Perhaps Ruger doesn't tumble the parts during their manufacturing process as one might expect at this price point. And the price means it is outstanding value for the money. This was my 3rd gun purchased from Bud's and all 3 transactions went smooth as silk.

Bought this revolver just to add to my collection but have since decided it is my favorite piece. I am a pretty fair shot with all my pistols, but this gun is a real ego booster on those days at the range when I'm not so hot. The weight and overall feel of the gun is amazing along with fit and finish. Trigger pull is smooth, double or single. I did add a Hiviz front sight to accomodate my 60+ year old vision. Target aquisition improved greatly. I hope my 42 year old son doesn't see this but I out shoot him on a regular basis. P.S. He owns the same gun and sports 20/20 vision, HA !! thanks again Bud's.
