I bought a new Smith & Wesson M442 38 Special revolver from Bud's because of their low price, free shipping, Bud's stellar reputation, and the fact they had one in stock with no internal lock. I paid via eCheck to get the low cash price so it took a few days for the payment to clear, but I know that when I made that payment choice. As soon as the payment cleared I got e-mails from Bud's letting me know the payment and shipping status with a tracking number. With the free two-day delivery my local FFL dealer got the gun and I picked it up that afternoon. My FFL was on Bud's preferred list, so having it shipped was so easy that I didn't have to contact my FFL dealer until I went to pick it up. My local FFL dealer was also very complimentary of Bud's, saying that they were organized and professional to deal with. That is nice to hear, especially when from a competitor. I got to take the 442 out for the first time today. The 442 felt very light, even when loaded. That may account for some of the kick I felt when I went through the first 5 rounds. I was able to hit center mass but not as tight a group as I would like. I went through another 25 rounds with the 442 and, once I got used to how it felt, was getting consistently better groupings. I got the 442 for its compact size and power for home defense and traveling and am satisfied that it will fit the bill just fine. Good gun and buying experience. I would definitely buy from Bud's again if I couldn't find the gun I was looking for locally.

Just got this little guy today. Fantastic appearance. Not a single flaw anywhere to be found on the body, which is awesome for the price you pay. I have not shot it yet, but I have no doubt of it's performance. Bud's took a total of 7 business days to ship out the gun, and 1 additional day to arrive. This was by paying with e-check. Not too bad if you can wait a few extra days and still want the cash discount. Overall, 5/5.

Great looking pistol! Very well made and great quality. Nice box it comes in. Love the grips from the factory. Can't wait to shoot it this weekend. It is a long trigger pull but it's supposed to be. It's double action only....lol. Either way best price around for this pistol and I'm very pleased! The laser engraved airweight name and everything looks great also! Almost white in color. Great ccw gun!

I have a number of firearms suitable for carrying but I'm a bit big, my waist is wider than my shoulders so I needed something I can conceal. The 442 J frame fills the bill. During the winter it is in my left inside coat pocket and during the summer, in my front pants pocket in a pocket holster. I carry mine with WW 125g +P ammo. It is a bit snappy but it beats carrying an anemic .380 auto. I've had an issue with the HKS speedloader. The HKS doesn't clear the grips. The 5 star speed loader I just received looks promising. The reliable Bianchi speed strip allows reloading in multiples of one or two and has a low profile. I have no problems banging 8" plates at 15 yards with this fine firearm. I've put ~ 500 rounds of +p ammo though this handgun and it is holding up fine. The one issue is it only holds 5 rounds but I plan to deal with that by buying a second one for another pocket or an ankle holster in the near future. I'll take two 442's over one G26. :)
