Fantastic lightweight carry revolver. Shoots amazingly accurate for its size with much less recoil than I expected. I have found that plus p ammo may be a bit much for this gun.

get a 30$ trigger kit from Apex and its a different gun trigger pull drops from 12-14 lbs to 7-8lbs,accurate but it's not fun shooting ,kicks a lot you dont need +p,regular 38 special is plenty

WOW, a wonderful little J frame! I had always turned my nose up in disgust whenever I saw one of these snub nose revolvers and it was not until after carrying my Glock 23 for some time, that I finally decided i needed something smaller for CCW since I am getting up in years. I am very pleased with the fit finish and lock up checks on this gun, its a S&W after all. My wife loves it too, BUT she wants a \"no lock\" Lady Smith, which Buds does NOT offer. We really wish that Buds would offer more \"no lock\" models for purchase, specifically the 638! I really appreciate Buds quality customer service, chat feature and lay-away program, very convenient and easy to use. My only complaint with this purchase is the lack of a decent gun box, cardboard? Seriously?. Plus, the grips on this gun sucks. I plan on getting some VZ grips for this little darling AND I have already ordered an Aholster kydex pocket holster, which is on the way! Thanks again Team Buds for a wonderful transaction and quality product!

Nice, light carry revolver. I have put 200 rounds through the 642 and am very happy with it. I shoot wadcutters for practice and it's accurate for such a short barreled, light weight piece. The trigger smoothed up after 1000 dry-fires with snap caps. Great carry piece.

I had the blued version, the 442, which was a great gun. I then ordered the stainless 642. Seems to be about the same, except, when I was dry-firing it (using snap caps) one of the screws holding the side plate in place blew out. I found it and re-installed it, but it\'s not much of a confidence builder.

The S&W Airweight "Centennial" style are my favorite of the S&W family of J-frame revolvers for carry. This certainly includes either the Model 642 or the Model 442... and my preference is for the "no lock" versions, the 642-1 and 442-1 that S&W offers and Bud's sells. No safety lever... no decocker lever... no ammo feeding issues... and no unintentionally dropped magazines. Simply absolute reliability and dependability in a time proven small compact package!
