This was my first purchase from Bud's and my first AR-15. I've shot M&P's, Rock Rivers, and other friends' personal builds, and settled on the Oracle due to the bang for the buck. The gun comes in a cardboard box, well packaged, but heavily oiled. It has a barrel flag, black metal magazine, gun lock, owner's manual, and warranty card. After cleaning, it shot 80 rounds of American Eagle FMJ ammo without a problem. Even 4-6 rapid bursts. The Oracle also has the deeper cut barrel feed ramps, dust cover, and forward assist. Check some other guns in the same price range, and you will find they skip these to save on cost. My one complaint is the Pardus stock. It locks in the buffer tube holes, but twists side to side. It also curves outward making it counter-intuitive to the natural slope of your shoulder. Its a pain to shoot but easily upgradable. Also don't buy a plastic front sight such as the Magpul. Magpul makes good stuff, but the gas block will get very hot and melt your plastic sight. Buy metal or use a floating barrel guard. I used Magpul gen 2 mags with no problems seating and functioning. Like the other posts have said a good base mil spec rifle to begin with. Thanks Buds

This is a good bare starter build. The only mistake I made was I purchased the extended lifetime warranty which is useless as soon as you change any part on it. Money wasted on warranty. The only issue I had with this AR is the composite Hexmag magazines would not fit properly as I had to smack it a little hard to get it to seat all the way and then it was too tight to properly feed. When you purchase Hexmag magazines, make sure you purchase ( Hexmag Series 2 ) as the first series has a design flaw in them, the Hexmag Series 2 fixed this problem. The notch on the side at the top of the magazine was too low therefore you had to hit the magazine harder than normal to seat it so it would lock into place pressing against the bottom of the bolt as it slides forward causing feed problems. A quick fix to this problem is to lightly grind the upper part ( FACING UP TOWARD THE FEED LIPS ) of the notch on the side of the magazine less than 1/16 of an inch ( GRIND A LITTLE, TEST A LITTLE ) you should hear a click when you lightly push the magazine up with hardly any effort with the bolt open ) I had several Hexmag first series that had this problem and it worked perfectly on all of them. I used a dremel tool with a straight tip to grind across the top of the notch less than 1/16 of an inch ( GRIND A LITTLE, TEST A LITTLE ) and it worked on all of them. When I purchased some Hexmag Series 2, they worked perfectly with no modifications as you can measure the notch at the top of the magazine with a caliper gauge and see that it is a little higher on the Series 2 and it does make a big difference.......This also may apply to other composite magazines as well.......

This is my first AR, therefore you can take this with a grain of salt. Overall I am happy with the purchase. The gun appears to work well, however there a couple of issues with it. Had I been aware of these I probably would have spent some extra money on something else since I will have to upgrade it a bit, but that is part of the fun, right? It fires very well, however only with the original magazine. I bought a magpul composite magazine and it would jam the gun immediately. I also purchased a HexMag composite magazine and it would jam on that one was well. I am going to have to conclude that it does not like the composite magazines. This is a bit of a bummer as the composite ones are lighter and don\'t clang around like the metal ones. The second issue, which I noticed immediately upon picking it up, is that the stock has a poor fit. It is actually kind of loose and it does not want to tighten up. I had a friend who lives nearby Buds and went and looked at it there. He asked me about it because he noticed it right away as well. Had I known this I may have just spent a bit more on a different model instead of have to upgrade it which means I will wind up spending the same anyway and maybe could have been able to use the composite magazines.

Great rifle for the price. I put a 4x12 scope on it and a few sighting rounds later was getting great grouping at 100 yards.

I ordered this rifle back in July and received it promptly with in a few days at my FFL. The rifle was shipped with no defects or issues. I finally got around to shooting rifle this past weekend. This is my third AR, so I decided to do a little bit of customizing. I dropped in an aftermarket trigger, full floated the barrel and installed a cheek rest stock. I shot two twenty round magazines of 62 gr ball ammo. She swallowed it all, ejected and fed perfectly. The accuracy was outstanding. I shot the bulls eye out. I admit, I have spent more than the $533 I paid for it but what a great platform to start with. I used the stock gas block, but ground of the rail to accommodate the floated forearm. Needless to say I am very pleased with the rifle and will be customizing my other two AR's for accuracy. Thanks Budsgunshop.com for the great service! I will be back.
