Liking it so far! The only hitch at this point was my assumption that the rifle would be ready to shoot after a quick cleaning. After putting 10 rounds through at 100 yards I was all over the place and couldn't seem to get any consistency. Well... turns out the scope wasn't mounted very well and had come loose... it's like checking to make sure your computer is plugged in I guess, it's step #1 but we're all guilty of it. After a bit of self-loathing I'm now able to focus on the rifle itself. It's got a heavy trigger and the bolt dang near hits the scope on its way up, but those are my only complaints. A great gun for the price, and something I look forward to shooting with in the future.

First order from Buds, no complaints here! Weapon functions as advertised. Scope was boresighted when I received it, zero within four rounds. Excellent deer rifle for my 13 yo daughter, she can fire it comfortably. I definitely recommend this rifle as excellent value for the money.

Thanks Buds, got my savage axis 308 quickly and in perfect brand new condition. I haven't shot the rifle yet but I'm really happy with my purchase and will be a long time returning customer.

As it does everytime with Bud's, this transaction was seamlesss and the weapons arrived early. I actually bought this .308 and a another one in .223/5.56. Both arrived fairly clean and well packaged as always. Actually, both weapons were pretty accurate right out of the box. Great price. I will definitely shop at Bud's again. Thanks.

Savage Axis XP in .308: I ordered this rifle because of the great reputation of Savage and the excellent price Bud's offered on the rifle and scope package. When I ordered it, I was aware the shipping may be slow on this particular item and indeed, it was a bit slow. However, it wasn't excessive. After my payment cleared the gun was shipped in a weeks time. I intend to use this rifle for hunting Florida white tail deer. I picked up the rifle and took it to a friend's house to try it out. Straight out of the box, the rifle was on paper and with a little tweaking, it was shooting good groups. The bolt action was flawless and even though I had read numerous articles on the web about this gun having a heavy trigger, I was satisfied. It does not have the Accutrigger, but even still, the rifle fired extremely well. The gun is light and the recoil pad was excellent. My wife and sister-in-law also shot it and actually had tighter groups than I did! Neither of them complained about the gun's kick and I should mention that neither of them are experienced rifle shooters. I can't compare it to many other rifles, but I would recommend this particular Savage rifle to anyone looking for an economical, well made weapon. The gun package is equipped with a Bushnell Sharpshooter scope, 3-9x40, and it fuctioned well, too. I've heard these scopes are not very high quality, but for the price of this package, who can complain? It is made in China, which I'm not too crazy about, but what isn't nowadays? The scope was bright and clear. The duplex crosshairs were crisp and easy to see on target. The zoom ring does turn with quite a bit of resistence, but nothing too hard. I did not care for the elevation and windage dials. They are hard to turn with the small, recessed dials. However, they did have metal caps. Nice! Yes, there are other scopes on the market that are better than this one, but if you're looking to spend ~$300 on a rifle/scope package, you're not expecting a Leupold. If you are, you are the one with problems! Thank you Bud's for a fine weapon! I have never purchased a firearm online before and was apprehensive about doing so. But, this was a pleasant experience and I will be back again to order a .22LR for my 10 year old nephew and possibly a 12 gauge for home protection. I have no complaints on the shipping of the gun as I was made aware of the delays when I purchased it. Even though it took about 2 weeks for the gun to arrive in my hands, it was faster than I was warned it could take.

My rifle arrived on time in excellent condition. I am pleased with Bud's service. Only hitch in the process was UPS. The tracking was fouled up and still does not show it was delivered to FFL. It was delivered to my FFL on time. I recommend Bud's for the best deals in your firearm purchase.
