A nice rifle for the price. I purchased this firearm for the threaded barrel. The only drawback is the striker noise. With my silencer on the rifle, the strike on the primer is very noticeable. This could be typical for all rimfire rifles. Other than that, it is a kick to shoot. I guess the best recommendation I could give is that given the chance to order another one, I would. And of course, it would be from Bud's gun shop.

Looked for this rifle for months and found it here at Buds. Ordered it in the wee hours one Sunday and it was in my hands the following Wednesday. Kudos to Buds! Added a Bushnell Banner scope and a Champion Bipod...and soon found it shoots better than I do (though I have a couple friends that were able to do it justice) The bolt was a bit stiff but smoothed out nicely. If your looking at this gun and its in stock BUY IT NOW!! You won't regret it...5 stars to Buds, Savage, Brownell and Champion, they've all made me happy!

The Savage rifle shoots very well. It is very accurate out of the box and scope mounting was a breeze thanks to the provided receiver rail. I would recommend this rifle to others. I use mine with a suppressor and it is as quiet as an air rifle with sub-sonic ammunition.

Light, compact, accurate rifle. Action smoothed out after about 50 rounds, nice trigger. Threads were perfect and finish is nice. Typical cheap plastic stock.

This is a very accurate and fun rifle, the stock is pure junk though. And replacement stocks are hard to find.

The Savage MKII FVSR is great little rifle! I am very happy with it. With a cheap BSA 3-9x40 scope I am getting 1/4" to 3/8" groups at 50yds with CCI Standard Velocity .22LR and Eley Club. Other European ammo also shoots 1/2" or better @ 50yds. It shoots best with Standard Velocity ammo and Subsonics, but also likes CCI Tactical. Have put about 1,400 rounds through it so far and I think it's getting more accurate every time I go to the range. Also like the Accu-trigger. I highly recommend this model or any other Savage Mark II because they all share the same action and trigger. Get the 10-round magazines if you can. At first it would only feed with 9 rounds in them, but now that the mags are broken in, I can shoot with 10 rounds in all 4 of them. I highly recommend this gun. I was shooting just as good (actually better than most) than other .22 shooters at the range with more expensive .22 guns (CZ 452 was the cheapest there besides my Savage), so that tells you something about the Savage Mark II. It's no match rifle by any means, but it is one of the greatest and classic Sporting rifles out there.
