I purchased this pistol a few weeks ago, and I must say I am very impressed. The gun functioned perfectly during a brief trip to the range. It appears to be very well built as well as more ergonomic than most pistols. The long trigger is something to get used to, but overall I feel very comfortable with my purchase, especially considering the price. As for the safeties, the manual safety can be manipulated naturally upon drawing, but I'm not a fan of the magazine safety. Overall if you're looking for a solid, reasonably priced pistol, this is it.

This really is a sweet little gun. Everyone should know full well that this has multiple safeties so I tend to ignore poor reviews when people are just whining and complaining, etc. That being said, I personally enjoy the idea of having the safety options. I say options, because it is completely up to you whether or not to to actually use the safety and there are very detailed instructions for other mods (which will probably void your warranty, so I personally don't plan on trying any of them) should you decide to go that route. As previously stated, this has a very long DAO trigger pull. Like any other gun, it just takes some practice to get used to. It isn't a smooth glock-like trigger, but it isn't the cost of a glock nor is it as bulky. The weight is very manageable and with practice, my aim has greatly improved. I'm a new carry permit holder and by no means an expert, only owned this gun a couple of weeks, but I have a blast taking this thing out to the range (pun intended.) I did experience one FTE within the first 50 rounds or so, but I take the blame. I was still learning how to comfortably grip this gun and basically limp-wristed it. Over 400 rounds later I have yet to experience any other issues despite using a few different (extremely cheap) ammo brands. Lots of holster options out there and a great cartridge to carry. This gun gets 5 stars.

I rate this handgun 5 stars. Excellent value for a CCW. With the right ammo, your best bet for concealment, accuracy, and handling. After 200 rounds, still 5 stars.

I purchased this gun as my primary CCW weapon after looking at the SR9c being too big, and the .380 LCP being too small. This gun is in the Goldilocks zone as far as CC goes! It is perfect. This gun chews through any and all ammunition I have put through it. Have over 500 rounds with ZERO malfunctions. Eats up my 124gr PDX1 carry JHPs without a hiccup. I'm hitting 3" groups at 15 yards consistently and anything less than that I can double tap spot on. This gun is very accurate given it's size, long heavy trigger pull and short barrel. The trigger does take some getting used to. I traded in a P95 with a DA/SA so I am kinda used to a heavy DA. As soon as a trigger kit comes available for the LC9 I will try it out, but out of the box with some practice and training, you can be very accurate. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars rather than 5 is because I, like many others, am not crazy about the excessive safety features PLUS, Ruger only sends 1 magazine which in my case would only load 6 rounds. To Ruger's credit, they sent me another one free with no questions asked. I carry mine with the safety off and one in the tube, but for people who don't feel comfortable that way, the safety is very, very natural and intuitive to brush off. I find myself doing it without even thinking about it and it is situated and designed in such a way that you won't actuate it ON accidentally. Very nice design on Ruger's part. I HIGHLY recommend this gun. I would trust my life with it any day!

Nice gun for concealed carry which is why I bought it. Shot 100 rounds through it two weeks ago. The first 50 felt good but had a 6" spread at 25'. The second 50 rounds tightened up to 3-4". The trigger pull is a bit long but you get use to it. The recoil was light and with the extended grip I had no problem gripping the gun. I cleaned the gun out of the box because it was shipped in heavy oil coating. Teardown, cleaning and assembly was easy and fast. Good gun that I recommend for carry.

First - about Buds. I ordered this gun on Monday evening and fired it Thursday afternoon of the same week. This is the fourth gun I've ordered from Buds and I have never had a problem. This LC9 is one nice little gun - with a big bite. Picked it up at the gun shop, took it out of the box while paperwork was being completed and wiped off much of the "grease" Ruger likes to put on their new guns. Took it right down stairs to the range and fired 50 rounds of Federal 125 grain FMJ. Not so much as a hickup! Warning - if you visit ruger forums etc, you have read about the long trigger pull. It is not exaggerated. It is very smooth but very long (by design). I thought my first shot was never going to happen. My first 8 or 10 shots were way off target but started getting better until eventually by the time I had fired my 50 rounds I was shooting some very good groups on target. This is not a range gun. It is designed for CCW and self defense. It has good sights and it is possible to hit small targets at considerable distances. I love the gun. Also, I love Ruger. I had some problems with the SR9C (also through Buds) and they made it right in short time and at no expense to me. Excellent customer service. You won't go wrong with Ruger, Buds or the LC9.
