My ATI Commander is excellent reproduction of the GI firearm, cleaned it thoroughly and oiled it up and it shot flawlessly 230 grain ball ammo which is all I'm ever going to shoot with it, feels great in the hand, and I couldn't be more happy with it. Buds Gun Shop had it to me in 5 working days excellent customer service will be back thank you!

I bought this gun because I have always loved the 1911 platform. I use it for fun, and my big boy gun. This ran good for a while, and then I started having trouble extracting. Granted I was running cheap ammo, but then I used defense ammo through it and had the same problem. Did some tinkering and research and seemed to fix the problem for now. Nothing else I can really nit pick about the gun.

Excellent firearm! Came very quick from Buds, cleaned and took to range. Pistol worked flawlessly with no failures at all. I highly recommend. Only came with one magazine though. No problem, bought more. Buds has done great for me again. Best prices and service.

This is an all-steel commander-length 45 ACP made in the Philippines by S.A.M. It is a cast frame and mim parts, but it is almost a faithful reproduction of a spec Colt 1911 commander. Staked plunger tube and extractor. The finish is parkerized, and came packaged covered in oil in a heat-sealed bag in a cheap hard-plastic clamshell case. Out of the box, (after cleaning) it is 100% functional and even has a decent trigger. All safeties work, but the thumb safety is a bit stiff. That would probably have smoothed out on its own, but I polished it and shortened the plunger spring a coil and now it it perfect. The rcoil spring seems a bit weak, but that should be tuned to your load anyway. The grips are wood and damn ugly. The sights are fixed and GI style. Upgrading the sights to Novak or LPA will require milling the slide if you want good ones. It is a bare-bones military style 1911 in commander length and if that is what you want, here it is, but be cautious. After a complete detail disassembly and inspection, I ended up replacing the disconnector, which was over polished and too short , and one of the grip screw bushings, which was boogerred upon installation. The M/S housing pin is mislocated slightly, but that has no consequence unless you want to change it, perhaps for one with a magwell.. Some of the parts seem a bit soft, but overall it seems to be a good start for a project gun as it is complete gun for the price of a bare frame from the standard suppliers like Caspian or STI. For the price, this is an impressive buy. The quality is on par with Rock Island, which makes sense, but it is even cheaper. I plan on modding this gun extensively, including bobtailing the frame and flat-topping the slide. The quality of the metallurgy, and thus the lifespan of the piece remains to be seen. Just a word of caution. If you are knowledgeable and familiar with 1911\'s, and you plan to completely go through this thing, you could use it as a carry piece. If you just want to have a 1911 for a range toy, it is OK, but it isn\'t as smooth and pretty as a higher-end gun. If you just think carrying a 1911 is cool, and aren\'t familiar and proficient with the system, don\'t get this.

First order from Bud's. Fast and easy. Shipped quickly. Thanks! The first one of these I received shot about three inches low at seven yards. Ended up sending it back to ATI. They responded promptly to my problem with a pre-paid shipping label. Seven weeks later received a new one. At the range today it was awesome. Right on target. This thing shoots very tight groups. For the price I'm pretty satisfied. The machining on this is just incredible for the cost. No burrs. No chatter marks. Nice surface finishes. This thing is tight too. Now, I just need to get out with my buddy with the $1200 SIG 1911 and show him what you can get for less than $400. Thanks Bud's! Thanks ATI!
