Ordered on 4/6 and received pistol on 4/11. Pleasantly surprised to find pistol in a lockable plastic box with foam padding, a cable lock, one 8 rd mag, a package of gun lube and all paper work. Pistol was sealed in plastic bag. Lubed but not flooded. (Big improvement over oil soaked cardboard box and bag of chips and cutting fluid) Took home and cleaned and lubed, off to the range with my son and grandsons. Ran approximately 175 rounds, of FMJ 230gn, hollow point 230gn, lead round nose 185gn, and even some hollow point 200gn with NO FTFs, NO FTEs, NO Jams, NO problems at all! Except running out of time to shoot. I brought one Chip McCormick 7 rd mag to replace the factory unit if it was trash. Could tell no difference in feeding or drop between the two.
The only issue I had was some dinged cases and some case damage done by the ejector. At approx 20 yds, on a 18\" square bulls eye target patterns of 3\" to 4\" spread, by me, my son and grandsons were easily obtained. Hits were a little low but dead on L to R. Sights were more than acceptable.
After reading all the horror stories about ATI and the terrible experiences on range trips I finally decided to take a chance as this was the only Commander size pistol that I could afford.
This pistol is not a Kimber but could I have shot better with a $2500 pistol vs my $400 pistol? I doubt it. Often the tool is only as good as the craftsman using it. Would I recommend this gun to others? To a novice who thinks that a expensive weapon automatically makes you a better shot? No. To an experience shooter who knows his or her own limitations and is looking for a basic, good quality, low cost pistol? YES!
All in all a great gun, Great Bud experience, fast shipping, and a ton of fun
Thank you Buds!
