Great price on entry level .308. Added a few upgrades. This will be my hunting rifle. Thanks Buds!

Reliable and accurate, seems to have a pretty nice finish also. I will say for the price I was actually expecting less of a gun but its actually a very good rifle. I recently sold my S&W M&P10 and regretted it soon after. I wanted another .308 AR platform but didn't want to empty my savings account doing it. So after seeing that DPMS actually sells spare parts for their .308 to the public unlike S&W I took a chance. I would do it again! and as usual the transaction with Bud's Guns was effortless on my part.

The charging handle was abnormally too hard to pull back. There is also metal shavings in the finger clips which tells me something is off. I took it to my local gun store and he showed me another DPMS LR-308 that worked fine and agreed there is something wrong with mine and I have not fired one shot yet. I am looking for a way to return this brand new rifle for repair right now.

I stopped by the Lexington store to see if they had this rifle in stock. No bueno. Salesman apologized profusely and said, "If I were you, I'd go out to the parking lot and order this on your phone; they won't last long at this price." That's exactly what I did. On a Friday. At 6:30 p.m. By the following Wednesday, the rifle had arrived at the store and I got an email for pickup. Checkout was a snap. The rifle itself is quite nice for the price, if not a little spartan. It's going to be a work-in-progress for a while. I stuck some flip-up sights on it, swapped out the stock for a Magpul (honestly, DMPS, that stock is hideous), and was shooting the next day. Fit and finish are good. Fed NATO headstamped German MilSurp 7.62x51 from Pmags and the included steel mag like a champ. Brass wasn't dinged up too badly and it dropped in a nice little pile. Haven't tried steel case yet. Haven't tried commercial 308 yet, either. I'm not good enough to speak to accuracy with hastily installed flip-up sights but I was more than happy with what I saw when shooting from the standing at about 50 yards. Nothing scientific here. When the weather gets better, I'll get the bench out and see what she really does. I don't anticipate any bad surprises. Do note that the gas block sits lower than the receiver rail. If you go the iron sight route, you will need a _metal_ front sight that accounts for this. All-in-all, good rifle at a good price from a great group of folks. Thanks!
