Very happy with this purchase, just what I ordered & wanted, As usual Buds did a great job. However I have not had the time, at this point to shoot, as I am picking out a proper scope that fits my budget. I will be happy to write a review at a later date...Thanks

I love this rifle!! For the money this is the best rifle that I have ever owned. I put a Harris "S" style bipod and Vortex Viper 6-24 x 50 optics with Vortex Scope Rings on it and was immediately holding 1/2" Groups at 200yds. I will recommend this rifle to anyone and everyone that asks my opinion.

Been looking around for a target rifle that would be capable of 1 MOA out to 1,500 yards. First, the 338 Lapua Magnum has similar energy as the 375 H&H (African caliber rifle) and the 338 LM has better ballistics performance shoots flatter as well as velocity retention. I’ve done some research on about 30+ reviews using various sources (YouTube, other gun websites) which indicated 85%+ satisfaction on Savage rifle. So the choice was between Rem Model 700 XCR, Savage 110 FCP HS (model 19481) and this Savage 111 LRH (model 19482) but have settled on the Savage 111 LRH 338 Lapua Magnum for the following (7) stars reasons: * Savage superior (floating) Bolt Action design assures headspace consistency (not available on Rem 700 action) * Accutrigger safety (prevents accidental discharge) and adjustable (mine measured a perfect 3 lbs pull right out of the box) * AccuStock (imbedded Aluminum support, no need for further stock bedding – not available the 110 FCP HS) * Superior lighter weight than Model 700 XCR *Adjustable cheek piece (not available on 110 FCP HS or the Model 700 XCR) * The 111 LRH comes with Picatinny rail (neither the 110 FCP HS nor the Model 700 XCR come with rail) * Pricing for the 111 LRH is better than both Rem 700 XCR (+$800) and the 110 FCP (+$300) Strikes: - The Savage 110 FCP HS has heavy fluted Target Barrel while the 111 LRH has standard sport barrel. So I decided to take a chance on the Savage 111 LRH (Model 19482) 338 LM mounted with Alpen Apex XP 6-24x 50mm (Amazon) on UTG Medium Profile (Amazon) and the result today was just phenomenal with 9 shots for sightings and 3 shots for initial grouping at 100 yards yielded 0.875 MOA (two shots touching) with Lapua (Finland) cartridge 250 gr OTM Scenar. The verdict is that the Savage 111 LRH 338 LM shoots very well out of the box. Much work has to be done for better (and statistical significance) grouping using hand load cartridges but it is a good start for a 1,500 yards endeavor. Many thanks to BudsGunShop for delivering products expeditiously, great pricing and customer service. Last but not least, thanks to Hickok45 and several others for producing very educational and entertaining shot shows.

This is absolutely the best price for any rifle like this. It is just as accurate as any 5000 dollar .338 lapua chambered gun, and you don't need to break the bank. 5 stars all day every day. Very pleased with this one.

Shoots great. chamber to tight for brass would not eject every time. I will polish and not send back what never should have left factory.

Have not run it yet. First impression is that it is a big rifle. It looks very well made and it is for the money the least expensive 338 Lapua you can find or that I have seen. I am sure that it will shoot well. The scope that this rifle requires will exceed the cost of the rifle . I purchased this for target shooting. It's hard to beat a Savage when it comes to value.

I own the Savage LRH in .308 Winchester, .300 Winchester Magnum and the .338 Lapua Magnum. The 111LRH in .338 Lapua Magnum very well may be the finest shooting long-rifle I own and have shot. The only other long-gun I shoot as well as the Savage 111LRH .338 Lapua Magnum is my Barrett M82A1 in .416 Barrett Magnum....and the Barrett cost substantially more. I recommend the Savage LRH to anyone who asks.

Thanks Savage. I love my 338 Lap. Fit and Finish are top notch. A similar gun in another brand would have been much more, gun should probably be priced $1500 to $2000.

Typical Savage value. I was a little concerned about recoil with this traditional design, but it really isn't a problem. The muzzlebrake does a great job of turning recoil into noise, and despite a wrong scope choice on my part, I'm very impressed with how it shoots. I had read about some eject problems, but the rifle cycled every Hornady round I put through it without a hiccup. A very impressive rifle, even without considering the bargain price. Not cheap to feed, but great fun. You won't be disappointed.

First off, about Buds. This was my first dealing with them and my first online firearm purchase. Smooth as silk even with all the holiday and ban craziness going on. Fast delivery, awesome communication, and the 90 day layaway is a thing of pure beauty. I already have orders in for two more firearms. About the savage. Have not yet fired it, but the look and feel of this thing are amazing. I was torn between this and an lba. After handling this one and shouldering it, I am in love with how fast and light it handles despite the 26" barrel. Being a savage, I'm sure it actually shoots as good or better than it looks. Some things to note about this model that the savage site nor buds points out is that the 338lm action is different from other 110/111 long actions. It doesn't have an open top, it is more like one of their target actions, which is great for beefiness and stiffness with the hi power cartridge, but if changing out the base to a 20 moa instead of the factory installed 10 moa, you will have to grind off the recoil lug on the new base, and the mounting screws are larger for this action as well. Not a huge deal, but something to be noted for prospective buyers. The only other gripe I have is that combining the long action with the cheek rest, you must lower the cheek rest to remove the bolt. I will likely clearance the front of the rest so that I can lock it in place and still slip the bolt out. Neither of these nuances are a big enough deal for me to rate the rifle any less than 5 stars however.

Typical Savage, as they have mispriced this gun and it should cost $1,500-$2,000. Fantastic 338 LM as its my second 338 LM. The first one has HS precision stock and I wanted 338 LM for wild boar hunting. 3/4 MOA at 100 yards with Sightmark 35mm 5/25/56 scope.

First off just buy one!!! This thing rocks and is shooting out of the box 250 grn blackhills sierra match at 400 yrds groops you might hope to get at 100 yrds. Way to go Savage!! 1 inch groups on 3 shots of bench rest. Very nice recoil about the same as 308 or 270 without a muzzle brake. But for sure dont shoot without ears protected at all times and dont let people stand to the sides at all. Mine has Nightforce 8-32-56 benchrest scope and is hitting pie plate 7 out of 10 at a 1000 yards of the bench. With factory loads this is really impresive cant wait to start loading for even better results. Buds guns is the best deal out there on this rifle buy one and enjoy what Savage has done for us for this price. AWSOME
