Ruger has offered another good one. I like this gun. And being a revolver it’s really fun to shoot.

Nice gun to carry when hiking in the woods. I usually stop and plink at a beer can, always seem to find one.

I purchased this as a companion/trainer for the .357 counterpart SP101 that I also purchased from Buds. It has evolved from that role, it's now my favorite .22 pistol to shoot, every time 22lr goes in my range bag, this gun goes with it. Total blast to shoot. It's not exactly a S&W 617, which I've also shot a lot. But it's not meant to be and you're not going to pay S&W 617 prices. Sure it's 2 rounds fewer capacity, but I can shoot this thing all day and still have a smile on my face. Added bonus is being a revolver it will slow down my shooting and make the session longer!

Shoots fine, works fine, feels fine, Looks great. Is it necessary to spend so much on a 22? I'm no sorry and have gone both ways. When anyone holds it the feel of quality jumps out at you so I like it. No need to change grips or springs like I have on others. The front sight works better than expected.

8rd of 22lr! If you like SP101s, you should consider adding this one to your collection. Good target sights.

Needs a trigger job! Entirely too difficult to shoot as double-action but as single, operates fine. For single action, you may find your thumb getting a little raw until you build up a calaces or something. Very nice looking revolver, sometimes has trouble ejecting certain (cheap) brands of ammo, but consistently reliable in shooting. Several hundred rounds so far and not one issue there. Easy to clean and accurately on target every time. A little heavy for a 22 but this is a little bull dog and may last you a really really long time, even with frequent shooting.

Really enjoy this gun. The size is perfect for a .22 and while it's slightly hefty, it feels like a well made, solid gun, which it is. It balances great and overall it just feels right. One thing to keep in mind that many overlook is that rimfires often need a heavier trigger pull for proper functioning, and out of the box the trigger is a bit stiff. It's not unmanageable, but it's heavier than the centerfire SP101 models. I bought a Wolff spring kit for the gun, specific to the .22 models and it helps out a ton, installation is easy and can be done with simple hand tools. The cylinder on this gun locks up very tight and as far as the finish, if you're accustomed to stainless Rugers, it's about typical. The finish is good but do expect some tool marks and minor scuffs. Luckily a little high grit sandpaper and some 3M scotchbrite pads will get it looking perfect. I've only shot it about 100 times but it's a blast! It's accurate and it's very simple to operate and you know, while it's somewhat oldschool, it's about the most fun as you can have with a handgun. I like this model so much I'm thinking about ordering up the exact same version in .357 Mag.

A fun gun to shoot, and because it is a revolver, it shoots any type of 22 LR ammo that you put into it.

Can not eject spent brass with ejector rod. Tried 3 different manufacturers of ammo. I contacted Ruger to see if they’ll fix the problem.

The trigger had a very hard pull. Not good for me or the grandkids. I had a different spring put in and now the trigger is good. It is fun to shoot now that the trigger is fixed. Happy with Buds price and service.

with-in 25 minutes of picking up at ffl, loaded it- tried to fire the pistol, the hammer would not pull back and the hammer would not turn the cylinder (when) it had rounds in the cylinder, We traded it in on a new sp101 327 Caliber within one hour.. We have many Ruger's We prefer them the most.. BUDS GUN SHOP is a very good place to do business..

Excellent fit and finish. Not crazy about the front sight. STIFF double action trigger. Not inexpensive. Stock grip is not made for adult male hands. Overall, a good kit gun.

Bud's is always good. Ruger's quality control, in my opinion, is not what it used to be. I'll be returning my gun to Ruger for the 2nd time. The first return was to correct some relatively obvious sloppy machining. This time, I'll be returning it because I recently noticed that the barrel is not aligned with the frame. It was twisted just a tad too much (or too little). I like Rugers and I've owned many over the past 40 years. Today's Rugers just aren't what they used to be it seems to me.

I bought this gun to compliment the .357 model. Fits into all it's big brother's holsters perfectly. Fit and finish are fantastic and no less goes into this gun than the .357 model. Already put 100 rounds through it and did have probably a dozen or so light hammer strikes or failure to fire, I did not get too scientific or worked up about it. Just pulled the trigger eight times, ejected the rounds fired or not and kept on reloading. I started to mess around with adjustable sights and the results looked like I was going to have a very accurate shooter, but alas, ran out of ammo. My only problem was that I only brought 100 rounds to the range! This gun is going to go everywhere with me and to be honest, I can't wait to get back out there and shoot it again like Ralphie on Christmas.

Great shooter. After 300 rounds I know this will become my favorite .22 revolver. Unlike other .22 wheel guns I've owned, this Ruger has functioned perfectly so far. No binding on the trigger pulls, excellent cylinder ejection and excellent case ejection. Stiff trigger in SA, but I can feel already feel it smoothing out. I love shooting revolvers. Shooting .38's and .357's gets expensive though. I've longed wanted a great revolver that can shoot cheap .22's. I purchased a Ruger SR22 pistol a while back, which also functions flawlessly, but I get more enjoyment out of shooting revolvers than I do semi autos. Ive taken it to the range three times since I received it and fired off 100 rounds at a time. Even though I haven't yet cleaned it, the firearm is working great. Thanks Ruger, Thanks Buds.

Smooth easy deal as always with Buds! I absolutely love the fit, feel, and finish of this revolver! The trigger is a bit stiff in double action but I'm sure will loosen up a bit it time. Love the gun and dealing with Buds!
