After so many positive reviews I decided to buy a Taurus TCP 738 over its competitors. I guess my expectation was too high this being my first Taurus. Buds shipped the gun very fast and I am very happy with their price and service however during my first day at the range with TCP I noticed the factory Taurus magazine and a promag kept falling off after the first shot. I thought I was accidentally pushing on the mag release as I was firing but it was not the case since I tried shooting with my thumb on the slide stop to see if it is the case. I even try wiggling the magazine while it is sitting in the gun and it turns out both the factory magazine and the promag were so poorly retained in the magazine well, even so mild wiggling cause them to come out loose from the gun. Very poor magazine retention design I have to say but I guess any manufacturer have to cut corners to make a such tiny gun. I have made a minor adjustment on the magazines by bending out the magazine retention hole a little bit to increase positive retention in the gun and it so far seems to work because I can't wiggle the magazine out of the any more but I will still have to go shoot a couple of hundreds rounds to see if this fixes the problem. Just be aware of this before you buy a TCP over a Ruger LCP. Something makes me think that I would not be having this problem with a LCP. On the positive note, TCP shoots very accurate and it has a very good trigger so I will try to make this work for those two reasons.

Have not had my TCP long but have shot about 50 rounds through it. So far so good, I shot a variety of rounds and it handled everything I threw at it. Accuracy was good at 21 feet; but the sights are hard to find when trying to fire rapidly. Heavy loads induced heavy recoil and was uncomfortable to the palm of my hand. Trying to unload the pistol is the only complaint I have. No matter what type of round was in the chamber it would not fully eject a loaded round. It made unloading a two person project. The round hangs up in the ejection port. No problem with ejection when shooting, only when clearing a loaded round. I measured the rounds and they are all proper length for a 380. The pistol is light, shoots well and small enough to conceal in pants pocket. For a small compact carry pistol it serves its purpose well; thus I would by it again if I needed one; you can't beat the price. Buds was good as always.

I love my 380 and how small it is but again I didn't get the first bullet shot out of it.

This was my 3rd purchase from Buds, great service fast shipping. with in the first 100 rounds the gun failed to feed 5 times, a number of forum's posted quick fix's I didn't trust. One guy sent his gun back 4 time's and it still failed to feed. So I took matter's into my own hand's, I notced the ramp was narrower at the chamber (top) than the bottom. All my other guns ramps are the same with top & bottom. Now I don't recommend any one try this, but I took a dremel to wide'n the top of the ramp. problem solved. I just got back from the range. Fired 200 round's thru it with no problem's, the last 25 rounds where hollow points that wouldn't feed into a clean gun. I also put a dab of paint on the almost non-exsistent sights. With that I got a 3 inch grooping at 25 feet. Not bad for a 2.84 inch barrel. I can now trust this gun. It's small, light and fun to shoot. I would buy one again

Took possession of this lil" beauty on 8/31 and put 75 rounds through it that day. Since I have put another 50 with no problems at all. The last 50 was remanufactured ammo and she ate it like candy. The small lightweight frame is perfect for pocket or ankle carry and so far very reliable. The only drawback is it coming with only one magazine. I purchased another brand 10 round magazine that seats but it will not feed. I had to go with the Taurus factory 6 round magazine to get it to work properly. It will fit your hand much better and absorb some of the kick if a grip extender is purchased for the magazine. I have yet to shoot any hollow points, but I racked out an entire magazine of hollow point self defense ammo with no feed problems. Bottom line; for the price and the carry benefits of the 738 TCP380, I would definatly purchase it again. Buds is a great place to purchase firearms with a very smooth buying process.

Perfect for conceal carry. Comes in a Taurus manufacturing. Shoots nicely.
