Great CCW piece for those on a budget. It\'s a SA and switches to DA for restrike if needed which is a neat feature. Only comes with one magazine but spares are widely available now.

I got the gun in 2 days after ordering, this does not surprise me as I had the same service with 3 other guns I bought. have run 3 hundred rounds through it with zero problems, at first I thought Houdini would havehave loved to get his hands on the trigger. but after about 200 hundred rounds though it I now respect it. I read several articles by the pundits that claimed loose magazines, wobbly slides not feeding well stove pipes. As have had several Tarusus over the last30 or so years so I bought it anyway and glad that I did one possible complaint I might have is I feel the slide finish may not be the best and if you are picky abiut these things it might be better to get the stainless slide, really like the gun.

Awesome little 9mm. Great price and received it very fast. Put 200+ rounds so far. No FTF, FTE. Only had 2 issues but I expected them as it was with steel ammo that I've had issues with in my other 9mm. I highly recommend a speed loader and at least 1 spare mag. I recommend Winchester brass or Tulammo Aluminum. I did not like the feel or Hornady Defense rounds as it felt weak. The 2 rounds with issues were Monarch Steel cases. Once you get used to the trigger it makes the gun easier to use.

Reliability so far is 100%. 250 rounds. Different makes, weights and power levels. Leaded and unleaded hollow points and FMJ. No jams. Only comes with one magazine and has some pretty sharp edges, but for the price you get a small, powerful and reliable ccw.

I like the 709 Slim a lot, in fact I purchased a second one on Bud's to keep at home while I'm carrying one. On the range it reliably handled any kind of ammo I put through it. It also has some nice features like the adjustable rear sights, simple take down pins and a safety. Field stripping and cleaning is a breeze. The Slim is not hammer fired, yet it is single/double action. After the first shot the trigger pull is short, light and crisp. It's a good idea to use the safety because it's easy to fire accidentally . Maybe the best part is the price of the Slim. I don't think you can get a better deal on a 9mm carry gun.
