I purchased this gun as an easier to carry companion to my full size XDm. It certainly does not disappoint. It embodies all of the great qualities I have come to expect from the XDm line. It drives tacks, and handles the thump from 230 grain rounds as well as anything I've fired. In all fairness, I have to believe that a hair longer on the grip would be a huge plus. The xd mod 2 fills the sub compact niche, making such a short grip on the XDm compact unnecessary in my opinion. HOWEVER, a $10 grip extension turns what would be a negative into a moot point. In a single range trip this gun became my new EDC... and I have zero regrets. This my first grab from buds, super happy.

Love, love, love. This is an excellent pistol and I am not a new gun owner (military and civilian). You will not be disappointed in this purchase. The size, the caliber and the overall function and look makes this pistol a winner. I cannot imagine Springfield doing anything better but I am sure they will. Buds did an awesome job as well. The price was amazing and the shipping was super fast and easy. I ordered this pistol on Saturday the 24th of January and received it Wednesday 28 January. Please order from Buds and but do not order a Springfield XDM. I don't need any competition...haha

Out of the box deadly accurate the 3-dot setup works perfectly. What I like about the XDM 45 compact is it doubles as a full size duty weapon when I use the extended magazine. The sleeves that come with the magazine match the grip panels that can adjust the overall length of the XDM grip. Large hands, or small hands, just change the (included) grip panels, and you change the grip and feel. If you didn’t already know it the lower velocity round of the XDM 45 has less felt recoil than the .40 S&W. Low muzzle blast, light recoil, and the reliable penetration of the 45, what’s not to like? Life is just too short to risk on a smaller caliber weapon. IMHO dollar for dollar this is the best personal/home defense gun.
