Overall great gun! Be sure to give it a thorough cleaning before the first shot since it has excess oil to preserve it during storage.

The 2018 model Colt 6720 I received had the following features. 16in Lightweight Barrel marked C M P 5.56 Nato 1/7 no F marked front sight with yellow inspection dot under the A frame front sight. The upper has the square forge marking and Colts Cage code 13629 and M4 ramps. The charging handle has no Cage Code. The Bolt Carrier Group is not C marked on the carrier the Bolt itself has the white inspection dot and is MPC marked, the extractor insert is black with the copper colored spring the extractor itself is unmarked. The lower has nicely struck AR 14A4 Lightweight LE Carbine Cal 5.56mm marks with no fading out on the edges, QR Code, standard safe fire markings, 4 position buffer tube, P&S Products and Colt marked stock cage codes 4U486 and 13626, standard A2 grip, H buffer and standard semi auto FCG. The handguards are the double heat shield M4 type. The Rear sight is a standard Magpul MBUS. The Accessories Pack includes, 1 cable lock, 1 20rd Magpul Gen 3 magazine and manual. Overall the rifle has a nice finish with no blemishes I could find. Buds service was great as it normally is so 5 stars to them and Colt gets 5 stars as well.

I was looking at less expensive, introductory AR's, and I couldn't justify not paying a little more for a Colt. Ordered on Monday and was out shooting on Friday. Fast shipping, good price, excellent gun. I am glad I made this purchase.

This is my favorite model Colt makes besides the 6921 I took off the carbine hand guard and replaced it with a 15" Aero hand guard. The 16" skinny barrel looks kinda long and funny with a little carbine handguard but its definitely lighter and quicker handling than the 6920. Anyways, its a Colt so its put together with good parts and will last forever and hold its resale value. The 6720 has the best roll marks of the new Colts in my opinion. The picture shows that it comes with a Matech rear site which I really wish that it did, but it comes with a Magpul rear site. Also comes with a 20rd Pmag instead of a 20Rd Aluminum Colt mislpec mag..another small let down. The Pmags are fine and work great but I still prefer the milspec aluminum mags Anyhow, its a great rifle and Buds shipped it out fast as usual.

Gun arrived as Colt AR6720 AR15-A4 (Not A3 like listing stated). Came with only one 20-round magazine. Gun arrived in about 4 days to Virginia from when I placed my order, so I was very pleased with the speed that Bud's handled this. Gun is beautiful.... I love how this has the lighter barrel, because the heavier barrel is a little front heavy and this one balances nice. I am very happy with it. Taking it out in a couple of days to shoot, and if there are any issues, I will follow up on this review. 5-Stars for Bud's and 5-Stars for the Gun

Nice basic AR15 rifle, genuine Colt, the original. Extremely accurate right from the box with iron sight and Magpul pop-up rear sight. Flawless performance so far. Very pleased. Only minor glitch: Buds description says 30 round mag, received with 20 round mag. Buds made it right and I purchased 2 extra Colt steel mags and 2 Magupul plastic mags. Rifle shoots fine with either.

Ok....Call me biased, but I'm a Colt man. Have been since 1976 when that sweet Pony flavored Kool Aide first quenched my AR and 1911 thirst. When the 6720 came on to the scene, it sounded like the best of the old and new. A flat top 6920 upper receiver and a lightweight 6520 barrel. The 6720 is the lightest A4 configuration AR I have gotten my hands on. As a CSR at a large firearms store and range, as well as a small arms armorer I have and do handle every product on the market. I couldn't wait for our normal distributors to show availability on the 6720, so I placed an order with Buds (my first)... Seamless payment and shipping and a beauty 4 digit serial # rifle. Topped with an Aimpoint CompM3 it owns our 100 yard indoor range. I can hardly wait until the next Carbine class, this old timer is going to tear it up with this super light fast handling Colt. This is about my 9th flawless transaction with Bud's. The M4 Style Colt LE 6720 came with the Matech BUIS 200-600 yard sight, as the military is currently adopting. Also, were 2- 20 round mags, cleaning kit and sling. It weighs 6.3 lbs w/o a mag. One of the deciding factors, as an avid 50 year shooter, was the pencil barrel, which gives it a 'perfect balance' with better control on follow up shots. I put about 240 rnds of Silver Bear 62gr, 55gr Green Tip penetrators and 55gr PMC Xtac FMJ with zero malfunctions. The action was like butter and fieldstripping, cleaning and reassembly was a 10 minute deal. Accuracy was only limited by my ability. The flat-top upper has a numbered rail for an optic and I am considering a scope or red dot to increase its versatility. The 4 position stock is great, but I only use the fully collapsed/extended positions. Action is gas impingement which I believe is better than the piston type. I didn't use the 20 rnd mags as I keep 30 rnd composite Magpul Pmags since they can be stored and transported 'loaded', without acquiring dings or distortion the the mag lips, etc. The trigger was clean and crisp. The 7 inch fore grip is double insulated and seems a tad short, for me, but not enough to change it. Some would surely prefer a quadrail for lights, lasers, etc., but that is a minor expense. This carbine is a complete joy to shoot with its excellent balance and light weight. The 20 round mags will definately get used for sighting in and hunting varmints as they fit well on a benchrest. It took a few hours, but this carbine became my absolute favorite over my other quality ARs. The Colt quality is immediately noticeable. With proper care, this Colt 6720 carbine should last a lifetime and still be worthy of passing down to another generation. Others may choose the model LE6920 with the heavier barrel (with cutouts), but it is not my personal preference. Being able to avoid that 'front-heavy' issue on an AR is a major accomplishment, to me. This carbine is a gem and is as close as a civilian can get to Colt's actual military MilSpec M4 issue. It is easy to see why the military is adopting the M4 as its new standard military issue. Colt is the real thing. This would be a great choice as one's first AR or any experienced shooters upgrade. I highly recommend this carbine.
