Bought this Weatherby Vanguard Deluxe .270 win. Shipping and arrival condition were excellent. After mounting a scope I took it to the range to shoot it in, per Weatherby's recommendation. The gun shoots like a dream and is very accurate even during the barrel break-in.

Let me begin by again tipping my hat to Bud's awesome customer service. Had my order in my hands one week after payment was made - arrived to my FFL in tip top shape and without any issues. This rifle, without question, is my favorite of the firearms I own. Quality easily surpasses that of its direct competitors. Incredibly beautiful lines, GORGEOUS high-gloss finish on the premier-grade wood, and outstanding handing both on the range and in the field. Topped mine with a 4-12x40 mm Leupold scope, and it's ready to take down anything within 600 yards. Haven't yet pushed it that far, but shots out to 300 yards have grouped within two inches, even out of a cold barrel. Make no mistake, this rifle is a TACK DRIVER! Recoil is minimal, and the bolt-throw and magazine design make for consistent and easy follow-up shots. Love the three position safety, as well. This rifle is a tribute to the classics used by our fathers and grandfathers, and can well be considered a "classic" in its own right! I look forward to passing it down to my own son and grandchildren one day.

I have had this rifle now for about six months. The fit and finish is top notch. The action of the bolt is a bit rough but I think this is probably my heightened expectation for a Mark IV type smooth action. I mounted a Nikon Monarch 4x12 scope on it and sighted it in at the range at 100 yards. At the range, I was able to dial it down to consistent 1/2 inch groups. The tracking was so consistent that getting it from the top right corner of the paper on the first shot to the bulls eye made the target look like a trail map. I have since used the rifle for hog hunting several times. My stand is about 85 yards from the feeder and I have shot 7 pigs so far. Last time out, I shot two with one pull of the trigger! This rifle is dead on and give me tons of confidence. The accuracy is amazing and the Monarch scope hasn't drifted a bit. It consistently is grouping very tight. I love this rifle and scope combo. I can't wait to get that big whitetail in my sights.

I have wanted both a 270 and came within a button push of going back to my trusted Remington 700 BDL. Instead, I decided that I would opt for the Weatherby based on reviews I had read. I would have loved to have been able to afford a Mark V but I instead opted for the Vanguard Deluxe. What a great decision. The ordering was easy and in a few days it arrived at the FFL dealer who did my transfer. The rifle is beautiful with a wood stock that is custom grade. I mounted a 3x12x42 Nikon Monarch scope and headed to the range. After a quick bore site, I began stepping my very predictable pattern to zero. With a few scope adjustments, I am shooting .75" groups at 100 yards! My Remington 700 is a great rifle but I can't get this tight with it. I can't say enough about the rifle or doing business with I highly recommend both.

I purchased one of these in may in anticipation of my first hunting trip this winter. I paired it with a Leupold VXIII 4-12x50 with a ballistic reticle. This rifle more than lived up to it's reputation grouping 1/4MOA's at 100yd and taking my very first deer of the season. My uncle's reccomended the rifle and said they wouldn't have anything else and now I'm a true believer as well.
