third gun I’ve purchased from buds and couldn’t be happier. No issues whatsoever. First time I have purchased a subcompact and it is surprisingly easy to shoot and get on target. I do recommend.

This replaces an S&W 22LR pistol I purchased way back in 1990 and I must say it does not disappoint! After 10 rounds, I can actually hit something at the local range ;-) Seriously, though, it fits my hand well and is well balanced with lower than expected recoil. I couldn't be more impressed as far as overall quality, finish and ease of maintenance. Buds had the best price and customer service. Will be back, for sure.

Commie-fornia and gun roster limits availability, but buds is one of the very few that actually does business with CA. M&P is the best concealable handgun available in CA. A Little snappy but a few boxes will get you on target.

Love the S&W M&P shield 9mm. Great size for IWB carry. Also great quality, very accurate and compact. Not at all bulky. I would highly recommend for a carry gun.

Nice gun compact and slim

Purchased this last year around december the recoil compared to my SD9V is the same and its amazing because this handgun is much smaller, the gun feels great good quality have fired more than 500 rounds with no jams or problems, if i get my ccw here in ca this will be my everyday gun i trust this with my life and i love the extra safety swtich. Great pistol

I love this pistol. I have less than 100 rounds through it at this point, but everything works flawlessly. The disassembly/re-assembly process is simple and easy.The grips are tacky enough, and with the 8 round mag its a perfect 3 finger hold. The pistol is easily concealable but fires like a larger frame. Great, get one!

Received the pistol it was fired twice before having an issue with the seat and the way the gun is taken down. The fun no longer fires, I have to now order parts for it and have it repaired. Worse gun I’ve ever purchased. My guess it’s because it a California gun

The Shield is a well made reliable gun and has given me no problems what so ever.However the California version I am forced to use has a manual safety which I don't like in a pressure situation and loaded chamber indicator that is distracting to the sight picture.I replaced the sights with fiber optic and Apex has a flush mount replacement for the LCI.Also the grips are a little long fore and aft for my hands.Again a very good well made gun just not in the Cal. version.

This my third Shield and I bought it to be a carry gun. The other two I changed the triggers, so for carry I just want out-of-the-box. I don't have to buy it 'cause I live in Nevada now but I like the LCI(Special Needs.) I have put 150 rounds through it without problem. Shoots very well, buy it before they ban it. From Bud's of course.

The Shield is the way to go for the CCW world. The grip is like the 1911. Slim and comfortable. Shoots accurate. If you are considering the Shield as an everyday carry, you made the right decision because I know I did for that some purpose. For CA version, there's a LCI sitting on top of the slide in front of the rear sight. Don't worry it will not block your sight as it sits below the line of sight. Buy it and learn to master it like an extension of your fist.

Bought this gun brand new In a box. Picked It up from my preferred dealer in my home town and took It to the gun range to qualify with It so I could add the firearm to my CCW permit. Gun would not fire. Had to send my brand new gun back to Smith and Wesson to be repaired. How did this gun pass quality control ? Do I want to trust my life with this gun now ? Hugely disappointed.

Transaction was wuick and easy shipping was fast recieved was able to pick the handgun up monday took it to the range shoots great. Grst purchase. I would highly recomend

Excellent for CCW --size, weight,etc. Slide (spring) is still very tight even after 500 rds. Don't expect accuracy at long distances with this pistol due to it's short barrel. Only jammed once or twice with funky ammo but pretty reliable after that, even with those same funky ammos. Having that 8-rd magazine is good --it also comes with a 7-rd variety mag. Good back-up &, like I said, excellent CCW weapon.

Purchased this firearm not long ago and after waiting my 10 days I was finally able to pick it up Friday August 11th. This being my first firearm purchase I wasn't quite sure as to what to look for during the initial inspection. When I brought it home I was able to read and conduct my inspection more thoroughly and I realized that my slide lock wasn't functioning at all. With it not being able to lock I am not able to use my firearm and I now have to take it into a gunsmith and through Smith & Wesson warranty to get it fixed. It's very disappointing to know that after such a big purchase that it would be sent to me and not functionalbe.
