Ruger 10107 22/45 Target 10+1 22LR 5.5"
by William L Date Added: Wednesday 04 July, 2012
Pros: Solidly built, shoots very well. Trigger acceptable - I though my was fine until I tried one where the owner had lightened up the trigger a little.

Cons: This one required quite a bit of work to get it to work well. Lots of FTE out of the box with just a regular cleaning. Like others have said, it is a learning experience to get it apart and I hate having to bash a weapon with a mallet just to clean it. the mechanism that prevents firing without a magazine is a pain. It makes stripping and re-assembly even more difficult (magazine in, magazine out, magazine in...) and it means you have to empty a mag every time you want to do dry-fire practice. Even worse, the magazine 'sensor' digs into the magazine and prevents it from falling free when the release is pressed, especially if there are any rounds left in the magazine.

Fortunately it was easy to fix. remove the spring on the 'no fire without magazine' feature and it is like the feature was never there. Magazine drops out easily and it becomes easy to practice dry-fire and take-down. After working and cleaning the slide enough it now cycles every time. There have been a couple light strikes in about 2k rounds fired.

Would buy it again.
