Outstanding revolver. Almost too beautiful to shoot. Came in PERFECT condition with not a blemish on the weapon. These are highly prized and I am not so sure S&W will make them for long. But I am not sure. I don't have any issues with recoil one handed (left or right), but it is heavy and loud. If you can lay your hands one, I highly recommend getting this model.
Fun to shoot. Use good quality ammo. Some folks at the club loved it and asked. Worth ever thin dime.

Buds is of course amazing. And the 629 is without a doubt the finest weapon I’ve ever owned. It’s a bit more expensive than a Taurus, but I’d rather have a Cadillac than a Honda.

By far the coolest handgun I own. I’ve always wanted to own a Smith, now I do. I would recommend this .44 magnum to anyone. Cool factor is off the chart! Fit and finish is what you would expect, Buds layaway program made it easy. This is my 5th purchase through Buds, and they haven’t disappointed yet.

The Smith & Wesson 629 44 Mag is a Man's gun!! When firing 240 grain Magnum, it is very, very, loud and it kicks like a mule!! When you start firing at the gun range, everyone will know you have arrived and anyone else within half a mile. All that being said, load 44 special 180 or 200 grain ammo and your daughter, wife, or girlfriend can enjoy it. (Some may not have a problem with the Magnum.) It is a beautiful gun, has a history and after all, it's a Smith & Wesson. It really is loud and really does have a ton of recoil when firing the magnum ammo, but for a great time at the range and for protection, load up with 44 special. The pictures and videos of the 629 does not give it justice. When you unbox it, you will be wowed. In fact, when I picked mine up at the FFL, the employees gathered around it and was as wowed as me. It is built like a tank and will last long after we are gone. It is a gun that can be passed from generation to generation. May be the best model revolver ever made.

Have bought several guns from Buds the know their business. Now for the review. This is a quality S&W with excellent single and double action trigger. I have been shooting handguns for 60 years. Most 44 full house loads in other models including S&W have quite a bit of recoil. This pistol is a pussy cat to shoot and very little muzzle flash. For target shooting 44 special work fine. I think the reduced recoil is Do to the grip position.

I saw a review stating something along the lines of "If you keep looking at this gun, you just need to pull the trigger and buy it." So glad I did. This thing is amazing. Great quality built firearm. A lot of fun to shoot. Hoping to take a Whitetail with it this year!

Finally took this nasty girl out to the range. Also brought my S&W M&P R8 to shoot so I could feel the differences in the two guns. The R8 felt like 22LR compared to this 44 mag. The recoil was profound. I had zero problems handling the recoil though. And at the end on my shooting session I was disappointed I had only bought one box of 50 rounds of the Fiocchi 240 GRS SJHP. I will say that the rubber grips on my R8 are way more comfortable shooting than these wood grips. However, the cool factor of the wood makes me want to keep them on. And the wood grips don't grab on my clothing. Thats important to me because I use this in a shoulder rig for everyday carry. I absolutely love this gun. It is a lot of gun to carry and shoot. Which is exactly why I want to get profeciant in this system. This is my third gun purchase with buds and they were the cheapest I could find anywhere.

I looked at this gun forever, and i went back and forth between this and the Ruger redhawk. Now that I have taken it out and put about a 100 rounds through it I am more than happy. Fit and finish was perfect and sights were pretty much poa/poi right out of the box. I'm in love with this gun. Also, Buds was great as usual! If you're looking at this gun, do yourself a favor and just get it. You won't be disappointed.

The S&W 629 arrived fast to my FFL and was called immediately for pickup. I took it to the range and shot 6 different handloads, including a couple 44specials at 25 yards from a rest .every load grouped dead on , some a touch higher due to the different powders but grouped well. I own several pistols and revolvers but this may be my favorite ! I also shot freehand and shot super groups. No need to adjust the sights.Thanks Buds for the great fast service!!

You gotta ask yourself a question....do I feel lucky? You’re damn right I do! ;D Man oh man do I love this gun. All my friends of course randomly quote the movie every now and then when the gun comes up in conversation. It definitely exhibits an aura of nostalgia. It shoots well even when not zeroed (i forgot my tools the day I went to go shoot), but still got 4 out of 5 dead center bullseyes at 7 yards. Having wood grips means you feel it all despite having the weighted barrel so the recoil sensitive should give this one a pass and let the men have this one. �� Beautiful gun with a badass gritty historythanks to ol Dirty Harry. Looking forward to having this firearm for years, even decades to come.

Not much to say about this Iconic Smith & Wesson 44 magnum it speak for it self, all I can add is its very well made, the wood grips are nice if you are considering purchasing a 44 magnum you can't go wrong with this one.

Buds Gun Shop did an outstanding job and got my gun to me in two days. The pistol is absolutely as described and beautiful. The only down side is whom ever assembled the gun at Smith & Wesson used wrong screwdriver when assembling the cover plate and grips. This resulted in the grooves of the screw heads having burrs, they are not only immediately draw the eye to the problem the burrs are sharp as well. I will have to contact a Smith & Wesson parts supply and order replacement screws and put the screws in myself using a proper sized gun specific screwdriver.

Great shooting gun. Smooth action and a great balance. Awesome price and Buds was great to deal with. Will be buying from them again.
